That said, I think people are being generous when they say you have above average softs. I can't speak for schools like Duke, but at YLS, those softs are well below average. I expect you to get into HS, but your odds at YLS are way lower than a coin flip. I think mylsn's 10-15% is pretty accurate. If you want YLS, I strongly advise you to take a year to get some work experience, and I'd also use the time to retake the LSAT. Your current score is good, but it doesn't match your GPA. But if you're debt averse, you might just want to let it ride since I fully expect you to get some full-rides in the T14. Congrats on the numbers.
Is this egregious Stanford trolling Axe? Dean Deal takes students files with her to Hawaii, so clearly it's more than numbers lol.

Anyway, I could not agree more, an impressive soft at Yale is something far, far beyond what you would think ex ante. It's way more than being really involved at school.

I don't know your thoughts on Stanford, Axe, but I do see that my attempt at a joke didn't work very well. Clearly what Dean Deal does with her files when she's on vacation is the essence of meaninglessness. And, we all know that Yale takes only the most special of the special, so again, OP, don't you dare count on Yale.

I have almost identical stats to yours (4.0 gpa instead of 4.2) and received full schollys to UVA (Dillard) and Penn (levy). Can't speak to HYS because I withdrew my HLS app after my jS1 and didn't apply to S or Y. I'm not a KJD and do have above average softs. Feel free to PM me with questions though!

Your softs aren't that good.

Regarding the bolded, most of the time the school does not award above a 4.0, the >4 GPAs come because of the way LSAC "normalizes" them, so it is in most cases not a school-specific thing.
Very true for most schools. Cornell assigns A+ = 4.3, A- = 3.7; LSAC, A+ = 4.33, A- = 3.67.

Is that GPA your official LSAC? Your LSAC GPA might be .01/.02 higher or lower, depending on how many A+'s/-'s you have. (Recalc using the above values for LSAC; that's what ls' will see). Congrats on a great GPA & LSAT though.
