Both LSN and LSP seem to predict that you have a *very* low chance of both UT and SMU with those numbers. Of course, a 4.0 is an excellent GPA, and if you retake and score at least in the 160s, your chances increase significantly.

I am taking the Dec for the first time, is it possible to get up to a 160 from a 144 to there? My diagnostic was a 128 didint know I could get points for just bubling in answers and left many blanks.

It could be that I just can't make deductions and infrences but could be potentially smart enough to get through undergrad. This test is hard guys. If I can't do this well than maybe the bar will be hard as well huh as most of you guys have said.

The harsh reality is that lsat scores are fairly predictive of 1st year law school performance. Even IF a law school let you in with a 144-150, you will likely get eaten alive by your classmates.

Take your 4.0 and enter the workforce right out of college. It is almost certainly the better decision.

I am not trolling. Lol. I'm dead serious. I need some serious help. I can't figure the LSAT out. But why? It's frustrating. Omg are you serious if I have a 144 the rest of the classmates will eat me alive?

I took a PT 2 weeks ago and I scored lower like 135 but 144 is the highest I've scored. I just can't concentrate appropriately because I'm thinking so many things while I read that I forget what I read. Gosh!!

Everything you said could be true; however, English is not an issue for me. At least I don't think so. Moreover, it's the language the LSAT uses that screws one up. I was reading your initial post, and I inferred that one must get a 160 to be successful? So i can go to law school with my average stats now and can still be successful right? The LSAT has nothing to do with it.

Anyway, the things you've said are improbable, but not impossible. So I'll continue to respond. No, you don't need a 160 to be successful. I know of many lawyers (first hand) who make good money from very crappy schools. I also know many lawyers who make no money from crappy schools.

The differences? The successful ones are good marketers. Have street smarts. Know how to hustle. Most of them are terrible lawyers and very annoying to deal with. However, somehow, their clients trust them, even though they're crap.

Anyway, if your score is low or potentially slow, only be a lawyer if you have that extra street smart. (Add in typical TLS warnings like costs, etc.). And pretty much no conscience (or less of a conscience than your typical lawyer).

Or you have awesome connections. Or a number of other amazing factors that can help you succeed coming from a bad school that accepts a 144.

But as far as the crappy lawyers I've seen, the majority of them succeed because they have that suave street smart. They can convert potential clients into clients. They can convince their clients that they're good. They do a crappy job (but even they can win simple personal injury cases) but the clients don't know better. Their capabilities are evident when it comes to complex cases.

So that's my point. It's not your typical TLS situation, since most of you are looking to get hired and don't have to hustle for clients. Well, ain't no one is hiring this guy at the current stage (unless brother-in-law runs a firm). So if he's going to go to a terrible school, he better knows how to hustle.

You're probably right, but you are factual as well. Even if I do get into SMU I may not be on the top and probably still not get hired. However, hopefully if I do get into SMU and pass the bar I will be able to get a better job outlook than say Texas A&M. Many said if I get a 144 I won't be able to pass the bar. How true is this?
