I hate when threads end without a conclusion and you never know what happened. So, here are my results:

Accepted to every t14 except Yale (still no word from Stanford, but survived the most recent DLS wave so basically I'm in an unofficial wait list world). Received the Ruby at Chicago (180k) and other scholarships within the t14, though nothing matches the Ruby. Thrilled by the outcome since my best case scenarios were Harvard or Ruby.

Thanks for all the advice and guidance, I do not think my cycle would've gone nearly this well without TLS.

Would you pick the Ruby or the H, if Y isn't an option?

I'm just going to piggyback this thread, because I also had a retaken 174 and exactly a 3.89 GPA. Accepted at all of HYS. Schools definitely don't average.

As someone who is applying next cycle, scored a 166 a few years ago but now PTing at 174-7 (taking June), with a 3.8X GPA, you two make me hopeful

While schools dont necessarily average, there is some evidence that they do look at # of retakes.

Although im sure it looks a lot better to do a 161/174 retake than a 160/163/165/168 type.
