Duke UG is pretty close to as good as Penn (not Wharton) and Columbia. It's not as wide of a separation as there is between CLS and Duke Law, that's for sure.

Actually, it really is. Yet another person blinded by the Ivy League designation. The Ivy League is an athletic conference. Why is Duke not as good because they are in the ACC?

No, if you look at my post history I actually made an argument against the ivy league distinction. But duke just isn't as good as penn or other non ivy privates. Uchicago, stanford, even NU are a step above the level of duke, nd, emory, rice, etc. outside a few select areas in the south duke is just considered a good school, nothing great.

i'm with you on Stanford and Penn, but you lost me at UChi and NU... no way are they 'a step above' Duke. nor should Duke be lumped together with ND, Emory, Rice, etc. they're not peer institutions by any stretch of the imagination.

I seriously wish there was a way to untag threads.... This is not a forum for debating undergrad prestige, primarily because basically everyone on here acknowledges that it has almost nothing to do with admissions unless you went to HYPS.

What part of finance? If its banking, like Goldman Sachs, then fuck law school, stay with finance, get the MBA, and make way more money, with far greater certainty, and more prestige. Same for hedge fund, private equity, etc.

13) John Hopkins

Columbia scored 93. Upenn scored 92. Duke and Chicago scored 90. Northwestern scored 89.

4 - 12 on this list are peers. After 12 there is a pretty big dropoff score wise.

HYP 98, 99, 100. They are head and shoulders above the rest.
