I applied to some schools in Jan. but I don't recommend it. I cut it too close. Also your mileage may vary.Justin.S wrote:so, just so I understand, you didn't have schools review your app until after the Dec score and were still able to get accepted with loads of scholarship $ to 15-17?rad law wrote:167/168/3.75Justin.S wrote: Would you mind disclosing your stats?

You're making me really lean towards re-taking the test and not EDing to UVA...

So from everything that i have heard once you hit January, your shot at T14 is very unlikely. Unless of course your numbers are VERY good. A 174 would definitely be worth a retake. You arent planning on taking a year off are you? If so you could apply now see what you get if you hit a much higher LSAT then you can re-apply elsewhere next cycle. Right now your best bet is UVA ED, if you do it soon you are guaranteed in. If you hit 172+ you will have a good shot at CCN.Justin.S wrote:To Rad and JT
I have no doubt that I can raise my score to at least >170, probably between 172-174...My lowest PT ever was 167.
The question I have is how diminished are my acceptance/scholarship chances if I apply late? Everything I seem to read encourages early applications and I understand the benefits, but if I can improve my score to at least a 170 is it worth waiting?
and Rad, Can I really apply and then tell them to wait to review my application until my december scores come in?

Consider that Rad law has a picture of Tom Cruise as an avatar AND he's a 5000+ poster on TLS - That's good for several points on the LSAT in the eyes of a law school. Hence his YMMV disclaimer.

I disagree with a lot of this January is WAAAAYYYY too late OMG advice. Just apply, and if you don't like the results, wait a year.jt1341 wrote:So from everything that i have heard once you hit January, your shot at T14 is very unlikely. Looks like +10 points for all Ivys. -10 for large public schools.rad law wrote:http://top-law-schools.com/forums/viewt ... 0&t=132868Aggiegrad2011 wrote:No one remembers it though. retake. apply next year.
if you can break 171ish in june or feb and apply early you have a shot at HSY, CCN with money.

Retake. If you don't feel like you've reached your potential on the LSAT, that 3.9 is going to waste.

Only schools that are allowed to ask for money from a 3.9.
