And OP - you're going in to a profession that depends in large part of the clarity and preciseness of the written word. What do you think will happen on a forum full of [strike]overachievers[/strike] people dedicated to said profession?

Also, a mistake here and there is one thing, but when you post without punctuation, capitalization, or regards to flow and communication at all, you look like a damned idiot. How hard is it, really? Browsers have built-in spell checkers these days.

When I read posts that are filled with endless spelling and grammar errors, I tend to take their arguments far less seriously. This also extends to real life situations. As future holders of advanced degrees, there is really no excuse for terrible spelling and grammar. Most people correct grammar on this site for the good of the writer, in order to help him/her improve his/her writing.
