UGA 27 March Open House
Who is coming? From where?
I will be driving to Athens by car from NY. If anyone is interested to share a ride, PM me.

I really want to go, but they won't help any with expenses. It makes me feel like they don't really love me.

I will be there. Looking forward to it especially since I'm really leaning toward UGA right now. Safe travels everyone.

Can anyone familiar with the area suggest any good and cheap hotels in Athens?

Re: UGA 27 March Open House
The Holiday Inn on the corner of Lumpkin and Broad is probably your best bet. It is a 3-5 min walk to everything you need to see in terms of the academic buildings and downtown. The Holiday Inn Express is also close but a little further from North Campus (where the law school is). Also, the Hilton downtown is a safe bet and still walking distance from the LS. All three should be reasonable in terms of price, but the Holiday Inn Express is what I bet is cheapest. Hope that helps.Abrikos wrote:Can anyone familiar with the area suggest any good and cheap hotels in Athens?

No problem. Let me know if you need suggestions for food/drink while you are there as well. I went to undergrad at UGA and will be heading back for LS in the fall, though I will be missing this weekend (volunteering in ATL on Sat). Athens is a great town and I hope you all enjoy your stay.Abrikos wrote:Thank you!dawgs139 wrote:The Holiday Inn on the corner of Lumpkin and Broad is probably your best bet. Dress code says casual, what is everyone planning on wearing? Specifically guys, hate being that guy that's over/under-dressed. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Either a button-down shirt and shorts (if its warm enough) or khakis and a polo. For those with Athens experience, where should I head out on Friday night? I'll have one person with me.Killacam18 wrote:Dress code says casual, what is everyone planning on wearing? Specifically guys, hate being that guy that's over/under-dressed. Not a forum stalker but I swear you change your avatar more than I would have thought possible. Ha, hope the weather stays nice though.

Total forum stalker! I just get bored with them easily. TBH I think it's a manifestation of my indecisiveness over schools right now, I don't seem to feel settled about anything (hence the new tar).Killacam18 wrote:Not a forum stalker but I swear you change your avatar more than I would have thought possible. Couldn't agree more. Question about schollys real quick. The letter said commit by April 1st but the email/form didn't seem binding. Do you know anything about that? Thought I remember seeing you had something similar.

It is not binding. I spoke with Paul Rollins and all it is I believe is like a precursor to making a deposit; they're just trying to get a feel for their class and who is still interested.Killacam18 wrote:Couldn't agree more.
