Visiting a Law School
When you visited law schools did you bring your parents, a friend, or did you go solo?

I'm currently visiting one solo. I was nervous to take one my parents with me, but I kind of wish that I had especially since I got here way early for the program.

My parents are coming with me, we're making a trip out of it. They want to see where I'll be moving, and understandably so. I'm guessing most people won't have their parents there, but whatever.

I'm staying with my uncle when I visit one school, so I'm bringing him to the ASD, and I think my sister is going to come with me when I visit another one.

Re: Visiting a Law School
i've done both... one asd solo and one trip with my mom.
pro: if you're staying overnight or driving a long way, it's really nice to have company
con: i felt bad that my mom had to kill a couple of hours in a strange city
edit - when i actually went to the schools, i've gone alone. mostly because my mom has no interest in touring a school.

Re: Visiting a Law School
I've done it all sorts of ways... solo, with both parents, and with only my sister.
If you're already in and just visiting, do whatever you like. If it is ASD or ASW, then call the school and ask if parents typically go to that sort of thing. And last but not least, if you're trying to get off of a waitlist, then go solo (you're on a mission in that case).

I feel that law school is a personal decision and that my parents do not need to be there. I'm a :soon-to-be: college grad, I can make the choice myself.

I emailed and asked about bringing someone to the American ASD, and this was the response:You Gotta Have Faith wrote:If it is ASD or ASW, then call the school and ask if parents typically go to that sort of thing.
You’re more than welcome to bring a guest to ASD—in fact many people do. That’s why we even have a specific lunch session for Parents, Partners, and Friends. Plus, he can attend the sessions that you may not be able to –since you have to pick 2 out of 3 in the morning, and you can compare notes.
