a cab to grand central will take 20 minutes in light traffic & run you about $25

If anyone getting into LaGuardia around 10 am Thursday wants to split a cab, let me know.

Hey everyone,
I'm excited for the ASW this week but have kind of a paranoid question. When I registered for the ASW, I got an e-mail saying this:
"Please note: You will receive another confirmation email several days before the program date...."
Anyone received this e-mail yet?

Heh, a few people mentioned that in the "In at NYU" thread. And no, nobody's gotten that second e-mail. All is well (if a tad disorganized).

Nope. I haven't received much of anything from NYU since my acceptance, sans an e-mail about a blog. I think it is safe to say that they dropped the ball on that one.

I registered for the last admitted students days (MArch 4th, 5th) but had to cancel at the last second. I got that email on March 2nd (the Tuesday of that week).
Assuming about the same timing for this week's admitted students days, we will likely all get this email tomorrow around noon.

I'll just confirm this for you. I got my e-mail at around 11:30 EDT today.

There's also a bus, the M60, but it's very slow and takes you into Harlem from which you would have to take the 4/5/6 subway down to NYU. I would recommend the cab unless you're really trying to keep the trip cheap.
See you all there!

There are vans that will drive you straight to your hotel for $15.

Are we expected to have eaten lunch before we show up? If so, do any TLSers want to grab a bite somewhere before we head in?

They didn't feed us lunch at the first one. Lots of good places to eat in the neighborhood though.

I had an awesome time today and am looking forward to another awesome time tomorrow. Unfortunately, most people in my Greenwich Village tour group didn't like our tour guides spending most of their time telling us where to eat, shop and barhop, but I thought it was more useful than pointing out the various non-law school buildings. I mean, there's not much outdoor tour of the law school to give since it's only a few buildings.
This definitely is pushing me towards NYU over Columbia, but Columbia hasn't had the opportunity to have its say yet.

The Rascoff class was fairly entertaining, and yes, he dresses quite well. Was this typical of his [teaching] style, or is he putting on a show for the prospectives, as I suspect some professors do?

This was pretty tame, actually. Sometimes he sings songs!
