Haha same for me.. I would go to Columbia over NYU, so they get the priority :)

I really should have not rsvpd for any of the asws right away. I was going to call nyu to switch to the 2nd one, but that conflicts with a bunch of other schools i havent heard from yet. It might be better to wait until I have a clearer picture of where I want to be visiting.

except for columbia. they get to go first :D

How much does Columbia compensate for the March or April admitted students openhouse? (Especially if you live in the west coast)

I'll be there. Also curious about compensation, although I'm lazy and haven't looked myself.

It's on the admitted students site, but reimbursement for travel has to be pre-approved and they only give it if traveling will cause you "financial strain." It looks like they provide up to $200, and it's only for actual travel, not hotels, etc.

Has anyone thought about what they'll do for accomodation - a student host vs. hotel?

I'll won't be there on the 3rd but I will be there for the 4th. My brother lives in Brooklyn so I'll be staying with him.

Is it not possible to go to both NYU and Columbia's ASW during that time? I would figure they would make it easy so you could see both.

I'm planning on going.

I just hope that Columbia sends me an acceptance letter before March comes around.

In April, the ASWs for Columbia and NYU are consecutive. Specifically, Columbia is April 7-8 and NYU is 8-9.

I just emailed one of the students hosts, so hopefully they'll still be available. I was worried it might be a bit awkward, but whatever... it's a lot more convenient than finding a hotel or staying with my cousin in Hoboken.

Where do we find the list of student hosts // travel stipend forms? I just got in a few days ago and am scrambling to decide whether or not to go.

For those wondering, there are still students able to host people at their place - I just got in contact with one and have somewhere to stay for ASW.

Are you all planning on coming in on the 3rd? or will some of you guys be in town early on the second?

I'm thinking of getting in the night before. Pre-party imo

I'll be getting in on the 3rd, but I'm only 2 hours away (in Philly). Are you guys leaving on the 4th, or staying til the 5th?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
