Michigan ASW
Does anyone had any idea what the schedule for the first day of Michigan's ASW is like? They don't have it posted yet, and I'm trying to book flights/trains/etc. It looks like I'd be getting to AA at about 6 PM that first day, and I'm wondering if that's ok.

I'll probably be at the earlier one and would like some more details on this Preview Weekend thing.

I've looked up some previous threads on it and most of it is just gushing about how awesome Michigan/Preview Weekend is. If anything, it sounds like this is going to be one hell of an ASW.maggiebre wrote:+1Helmholtz wrote:tag

Which one of the ASWs are you guys planning on going to? Maybe we can get some kind of TLS meetup thing in order for anybody interested.

Right now, just Michigan. Berkeley if I get in, unless I also happen to get into Chicago since I think their weekends overlap. Maybe Penn, again if admitted. I keep on forgetting I applied there.

Oh, sorry, I meant which one of the Michigan ASW's: the earlier or the later one.thalassocrat wrote:Right now, just Michigan. Berkeley if I get in, unless I also happen to get into Chicago since I think their weekends overlap. Maybe Penn, again if admitted. I keep on forgetting I applied there.

I'm almost positive I'm going to the earlier ASW. Are you guys bringing people along with you? I don't have a SO and I doubt any friends can take the time off work, so I may be going it alone. A TLS meetup sounds like a good plan.

Oh, no, definitely not bringing anybody along. I'm really intrigued to see what they have slated for the three days.maggiebre wrote:I'm almost positive I'm going to the earlier ASW. I'm going to be at the earlier one, probably alone unless a miracle happens and the bf's classes are canceled in advance.maggiebre wrote:I'm almost positive I'm going to the earlier ASW. Re: Michigan ASW
As far as I know, there's no RSVPing yet. I was only admitted a week ago or so and got my initial packet in the mail a few days ago. I know somebody who was admitted earlier who already got some housing info via mail. Has anybody received something about ASW via snail mail yet?starstruck393 wrote:Can you guys RSVP yet, or are just the dates up?

Re: Michigan ASW
Not that I'm aware of. I think the two main general mailings so far have been the welcome packet and housing info. I'd guess the Admitted Students' site should contain the ASW information when it becomes available, no?Helmholtz wrote:As far as I know, there's no RSVPing yet. As far as the OP, I'm not sure whether I'll be able to attend an ASW; I'll probably have a better idea closer to the fact.

Yep I'll be going for the later one as well. Do you know if the $500 travel reimbursement for Darrow receipients is only for airfare or is it meant to cover accomodation as well? I heard that they have in the past, had a special arrangement to accomodate recipients, dunno if the same is applicable for this year as well.booby87 wrote:I'm definitely going to the later one...anybody else??

Hey, what are the accomodations? I'm planning on taking my SO, so... we just book a hotel room ourselves, right?
Also, am I going to be the only one bringing along the boyfriend? Is this a faux pas?
BTW, I'm attending the first weekend and would be down for a TLS shin dig.

SO's will probably be somewhat common. I don't see anybody considering this a faux pas, although I don't notice anywhere on the Mich site where they discuss guests.beesknees wrote:Also, am I going to be the only one bringing along the boyfriend? Is this a faux pas?
I'm open to this as well.beesknees wrote:BTW, I'm attending the first weekend and would be down for a TLS shin dig.

I just registered for the first weekend. I'm going alone, so I just opted for the shared room... should be interesting.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
