Something about this thread title doesn't make sense. But I can't quite put my finger on it.

It doesn't make sense because "How is the area?" is liberal white person code for "Are there many black people in the area?" Since he's asking about Howard, the question is ridiculous to the point of being nonsense.adh07d wrote:Something about this thread title doesn't make sense. But I can't quite put my finger on it.

You two are actually the ones making an issue out of it.

I was going more for the fact that "area" was misspelled as "are" . . . I can't really think like a liberal white person because i'm not one.

The law school is located on its own 22-acre campus in the northwest part of the city approximately five miles from the main campus.

i haven't been to the campus itself but it's two blocks from the Van Ness metro stop, which is usually though of as pretty safe. Young professionals, etc. There are a few shops, a Giant grocery store, and some bars at that stop and the one right below. But the best thing is you can just jump on the red line there and be at some fun parts of DC like Dupont Circle etc in minutes.
It's a way better location in my opinion than Catholic U, for example.

Everyone should be concerned about safety in places like Philly (Temple), L.A. (USC), NOLA (Tulane/Loyola), but Howard Law is away from the main campus in a quieter, safer area.biggamejames wrote:It doesn't make sense because "How is the area?" is liberal white person code for "Are there many black people in the area?" It's definitely in the NW but that doesn't say much because NW is the biggest corridor in DC.
Not a bad location.

I have lived three block from the van ness metro stop for three years now...it is probably one of the safest areas in DC. It is in the extreme NW of DC and adjacent to chevy chase MD. The areas immediately parallel to Connecticut avenue are extremely nice as well and have houses well over the 2 million dollar mark.
There really is not much night life around the area, but it is convenient for groceries and some shopping in nearby tenley town. However, as someone mentioned above, the red line is right there and Dupont is a two stops away.

It's a very boring part of the city, not very young. But it's safe, on the Metro and definitely better than Howard's main campus.

They aren't very close to each other and the area around Howard Law is boring relative to the UG campus. Don't worry it's safe.

I would ask the same about American if I got in there. If I were worried about being around a bunch of black people do you think I would be considering Howard?JAP1985 wrote:They aren't very close to each other and the area around Howard Law is boring relative to the UG campus.
