@JRMjr--I'm arriving at the McNamara terminal. What's there to do there for 2 hours? I read online that there's an internet cafe or $8 wifi, but I'm not sure that shops will be open at 5am.
But to save some of the $50 cab ride, I can probably read a book or watch a movie on my laptop for 2 hours and then take the Flyer.
what's the flyer??

I'm sure there are some bfast places, there are some coffee places, it's huge if you just walk from one end to the other and then you can chill at a bar with wifi and watch some TV, etc... 5 am isn't too early since it's a big connector/commuter place

Is anyone else flying into DTW (McNamara Terminal) at about 5-6 am on Thursday morning? A few of us are hoping to share a cab, so PM me if you are also coming in via the red eye.

Can't get to the ASW, but does anyone know what an EMPLID is, which you have to provide for the receptions in various cities?

LOL. I don't think that field is mandatory (at least I didn't fill it out when I registered). I think it means employee id.

That's kindof what I was thinking (although really I just assumed it was something that didn't apply to me), until I got red text warning me that I had to complete all required fields after I left it blank.
Thanks for the second opinion though....think I'm going to go with N/A.

So, am I correct in the belief that there's no reason I'll need dress clothes this weekend? I'm planning on packing nothing dressier than jeans.

Nope. Everything was casual attire at the first one.

dont think you need dress clothes. im packing right now and am only bringing jeans. michigan is a laid back place, and im pretty sure they said dress was casual somewhere in the asw description/itinerary.

Just pack what is comfortable or what you want to wear. No need for dress clothes.

Only time you might want dress clothes would be for going out to Rick's.

Isn't there an auction on Thursday night? It may require something dressier than jeans.

Gotcha... judging by other fundraiser/auctions I have been to I thought it may be semi-formal. Good to know.

Are we wearing anything to signify us as TLSers? I think the suggestion for last ASW was a little "t" on your name tag. How'd that work out? Are we all doing the same?

If people were doing that, I certainly wasn't clued in.

I get where you're coming from, but after you've been to the SFF Auction, you'll laugh at yourself for ever having considered going in semi-formal dress.
It's crowded, loud, and features a high degree of drunkenness.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
