Well, that sucks about the price increase. I think I am going to use the Doubletree about 5 minutes further north. With the DT-University's price increase, the DT-Austin location is almost half the cost at $76/night.

If anyone is coming from OK and wants to carpool/split a room, let me know.

i spoke to a woman named Cindy and she found me availability for the extra night so the rooms are out there and available!! the only change was that i had to drop my king bed and take 2 queen beds (still don't know why but who cares haha).

*ALSO, ask your customer rep. for the "university rate" and it will be $107!

Hey guys!

If anyone is attending the ASD on March 26 and has not yet booked a hotel room, I am putting mine up for grabs. I have a reservation at the Hilton Garden Inn North Austin that I will sell to someone for $50. Its a great deal, the rooms for the Hilton are at least $139 a night. We can do a paypal transaction and I will call and have the reservation changed.

I have an interview for a rather large scholarship for another school, and I am required to attend that day, so I have to give up my room. PM me for more details. Thanks guys!

Hey guys,

Went to the UT@UT ASD yesterday and overall it was a really good experience. I do suggest you heed the dress code and wear business casual. There were a couple people there who didn't (I'm assuming they just came from a class) but it was definitely a noticeable divide.

I also suggest you prepare questions. A lot of the "presentations" consisted of a panel where they sat down and said "ok, who has questions?" Of course it is a proven fact that when that question is asked, you immediately forget every question you have so I would write them down. Fortunately, I was able to remember the majority of them as other peoples' questions triggered my own.

Financial aide packages should be going out next week and if you have applied to the scholarship matching program and not yet heard back, that should be next week as well.

I was impressed with their career services presentation and its nice to know that UT has one of the largest career service offices in the nation. There are 7 employees, each with a JD, who specialize in certain areas of law. It is organized by Gov't, small law, big law, etc. instead of types of law such as environmental, IP, etc. Having said that, UT is really big on oil, gas, and environmental law so if that is your interest then I'm sure you could find some experts at the law school.

Overall, I was very impressed and will be paying my deposit shortly. But that decision was made within 24 hours of my acceptance call.

I say that assuming that will be the suggested dress for your ASD as well. And don't worry, 6th street Thursday night will be casual.

To think I was in y'all's shoes a year ago. Its good to see an enthusiastic bunch of soon-to-be-1Ls, but crap that means I will be a 2L soon. I'm getting old.

But on the other hand, its spring break, and I just got more than 5 hours sleep, the first time I've done that since probably early February. w00t

....and now I have to spend my spring break outlining for finals.
