Penn absolutely killed it. I couldn't be more sold on that place.
Also, I can't believe I met r6 philly in the flesh. Who knew there were celebrities in Philadelphia?

+1. Great weekend. Honestly, it wasn't Penn's presentation that sold me. Every 1L I met was extremely impressive, and all of you guys that I met were great. The people are the major draw for me, just the community I was looking for.dulcatis wrote:I really liked the weekendThere's a pretty big chance I'll be back in Philly this fall!

It was great. Still keeping an open mind about other schools, but I enjoyed it.
Edited to add that the entrepreneurial clinic sounds particularly interesting. Also, I got the sense that the faculty, staff, and students are all really pleased to be there and optimistic about job prospects. One current student did candidly say that there was little alumni/staff support for PI-leaning students, but that Penn is working to address that. The person in charge of PI, though, is, according to her, amazing and willing to work with students to make sure they're able to do exactly what they want to do.

The only part that sucked was that I didn't bring a winter jacket. I froze my balls off. Other than that, the alcohol, food and the cool people sold me on the place. Oh yeah and the academics seem like they are decent as well.

Cool pics. I especially like the ones of the Fisher Fine Arts library. Probably the coolest library I have ever been in. I liked the subjects you chose throughout the album.dulcatis wrote:I really liked the weekendThere's a pretty big chance I'll be back in Philly this fall!

Where were the pictures of the changing wall projection (or whatever that was) taken?

It was, kind of hilariously, the Comcast building. They were pretty awesome screens.

+10000 to everyone who was blown away this weekend! I was slightly leaning towards Penn before but by noon Friday, I was sold! The whole sense of community and the people there made me really feel like I'd fit in there great. The panels on clinics and programs really gave me the impression that if you go for it and try, there's more opportunities than you can even choose from. Everyone I met was just awesome and I'll most likely see you guys this fall!

What happened to the gaps between the screens in the picture where the whole wall is 1 large display? That's impressive. I may have to just go look at it myself.dulcatis wrote:It was, kind of hilariously, the Comcast building. They were pretty awesome screens.

It was really nice to meet everyone in person! Hope to see y'all in the fall!
So, I'm planning to scope out some housing options tomorrow. Right now, I'm thinking Left Bank, 2400 Chestnut, and Rittenhouse Parc (they seem the most popular?). Anyone have other suggestions or recommendations? Will try to put up pics

The wall is one large display. It's been a pretty big draw, they do shows like the old Wanamaker light shows.run26.2 wrote:What happened to the gaps between the screens in the picture where the whole wall is 1 large display? I wish I got to meet everyone from TLS there!
Also, one thing I kinda noticed was that the construction going on definitely seemed like no big deal at all. At most schools the construction is very obvious and distasteful...it definitely felt like the construction was an afterthought.

Loosing the courtyard in the winter time isn't much of a deal, but obviously if they could reclaim it by Aug. would be great. The interior work after the frame work is done is usually pretty quick, when you return you may not even see construction anymore.

I really loved Penn--probably down to between there and UVA now!
