It felt fake and artificial to me, like the designers wanted to create a false impression of the building's history and heritage (Anheuser-Busch hall opened in 1997). I found myself having the same reaction touring the law school as I do when driving though new suburban subdivisions and looking at the generic houses.

I love WUSTL as a school though, and I'd be happy to go there, regardless of its law school design.
This is because WUSTL purposely designs its new buildings to be look exactly like the ones on campus that are over 100 years old. You can't even really tell which buildings are new and which ones are not.
One thing that I think really makes a school beautiful is a consistent theme/style. So, I'd rather have a bunch of fake old buildings mixed in with the legitimately old ones than a university like mine, where traveling across campus is like a trip through every period of architectural style in the past 100 years.

After going through this thread, I'm convinced WUSTL and Michingan are the best buildings, lovin those pics. Santa Clara is very nice, simple, pristine. In terms of ebauty of the surrounding area, that awards has gotta to go to Pepperdine - but certainly the law building itself is ready for its remodel.

Cooley pic is just is hilarious as PCL in its own Cooley-esk way.

I visited UW about a week ago, my first impression of the campus was drawn by a homeless black guy with no teeth knocking on my car window trying to get some change.

The inner parts of the campus are great, but walking along the outskirts its a huge mess of traffic and homeless people walking around.

edit: you can count the number of said sunny days in a year on one hand lol :)

I don't know what any of you are talking about by saying Cornell Law School is beautiful...I go by there almost everyday and it's freaking ugly as hell. Only nice part is the library.

Lewis and Clark is a gorgeous law school, but the undergrad is downright amazing. It is one of the most pleasant places in the world imho. It is full of paths through forests, green terraced lawns, beautiful statuary, unique and beautiful buildings.

Snow can be downright gorgeous.
Also I haven't been to the others but Miami isn't THAT pretty IRL.
It's buildings are not on par with Michigan but I personally find it very pretty and I love the area. I find it to be one my favorites. I am however more influenced by atmosphere as opposed to architecture. I could find a shack beautiful given it's surroundings.
Coral Gables is gorgeous, I'll give you that, but the U's law school looks... fugly... for lack of a better word.

I'd rather be in an ugly building looking at something pretty, than in a pretty building looking at something ugly.

Let the record show that in BU's "best looking law school" submission the camera is literally facing in the other direction.

If you like Harry Potter style like me, then it's Yale, followed closely by Michigan.

I don't think this is true at all. I know I will be at Chicago in the fall, and I don't think U of C is the most beautiful by any stretch. I think it has a cool look, but Michigan, Yale, and Cornell are all more in line with my personal aesthetic.

Cornell looks pretty awesome.

Michigan's law buildings are nice, but I guess I'm looking at this in a more wholistic way. Michigan's awesomeness seems kinda limited to its law campus. The rest of the campus is meh... kinda bland. Maybe it is just because I visited in a dreary month (October).

The Grad library is nice (Ref Room is almost as nice as reading room in Law Quad), and the front of Angell Hall on State St is pretty sick, and so are South and West Quad. But there are parts (the Ugli, North Campus in general) that kinda suck. Really though, UMich's Law Quad is pretty damn tough to beat.
