Employment Law in Fed Agency vs. Big Law General Litigation

Post by Anonymous User » Fri Apr 05, 2024 8:37 pm

Currently choosing between both options. I want to do lit, but I'm concerned that employment law is too limited/niche, and I'm trying to think what's better long-term. I like that at the firm I'll have the opportunity to try different lit practices including antitrust. There's the pay and WLB difference, so what would you choose? Not sure if it makes a difference, but the firm would credit my clerkship, while the fed agency won't. Does litigation in BL have the same lack of security that transactional work has (as in lack of hours), or does it tend to be more steady? Is employment law (not plaintiff's side) a good practice long-term?
