Leaving EJW early

Has anyone here done it? How did it go? Obviously the organizational response will vary, and I have a pretty good sense of that, but I'm curious more about EJW itself and also the typical repeat firm sponsor. For context, I'd be leaving for another public service job but in a different geographic area, and I'd be leaving 3-4 months early.
