I somehow made this WL with 2.65/165.... judging by the LSN graph though it looks like I have 0 chance to get off it. I'll still send a detailed LOCI and cross my fingers though

Your full tuition (almost assuredly) will be subsidizing those who got scholarships.

It makes sense. I'm sure there are lots of people who are just dying to go to Emory and would seat deposit instantly if admitted off the waitlist. Why wait for someone to decide when you have other people who'll jump at the offer?

WL'd ~3/169 grrr I really like Emory as well, not sure what I will end up doing just yet. Im not like the 174 guy on the other page who def is in at a t-14 so this is annoying. I really like Emory but this suggests that I wont get money if I stay on the WL grrr

Seems like we've been waitlisted at many of the same schools. :|

Any other waitlisters thinking about paying them a visit?

Not sure how gung-ho I am about up-rooting myself from Columbus to go to Atlanta. However, this will be Emory's opportunity to sell me on paying sticker so I'd better be DAMNED impressed with the school,

Just got back from visiting Cardozo... also got WL email yesterday - 170/3.34. Don't care at all, but maybe a little surprised.

According to the FAQ, related to the waitlist, Emory does not rank the waitlist. However, if they don't rank the waitlist, how does one suppose they make decisions?

LSAT and GPA. Not ranking the waitlist means Emory can choose anyone they want in any order they want. They will choose those applicants with the highest stats no matter when the applications were received, when they were put on the waitlist, etc.

Why by stats? Wouldn't it be by a second round of review?

Your questions answer each other. Unranked waitlist basically means another round of review. As in the initial review, the most important factors are GPA and LSAT. If you're an adcomm and you need to take someone off the waitlist, you want to choose the person that will least negatively impact your 50% GPA and LSAT. Of course, if a school sets some sort of diversity quota (undergrad institutions, regions, ethnicities represented), I guess it is possible that they would choose someone with lower stats if they're able to fulfill one of these demographics.

I see what you are saying. I think if you made the wl you are at least ballpark for said school. The way I read the post was that WL candidates would be evaluated on a purely numerical basis. Sorry!

Looks like the rejections will come in a wave after the waitlists... looking at LSN and here it seems the vast majority of people who have heard back within the past couple days have been the waitlists. Next week will probably come the sea of rejects.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
