Anyone know if meals will be reimbursed? I know it specifically says mileage and lodging are covered but what about any meals?

Re: Case Western 2010
Finally was able to access the admitted students site, filled out all the forms, booked a hotel, and reserved a spot at the weekend. Will be there for the 20th only, but definitely looking forward to it. 50c a mile reimbursement rate means I won't even have to submit itemized receipts. Woot for laziness!

Re: Case Western 2010
I got the same letter a couple of weeks ago. I really dont understand what exactly the difference is between being on hold and waitlisted. Do they take people from their hold list before they choose people from their waitlist? Really since there is such a high possibility of you ending up on the loosing end with this strategy, I wish they would clear up what exactly a hold means in comparison to being WL'dDeSilentio2728 wrote:Kat.Ander wrote:I'm pretty sure that means you're waitlisted... but I would recommend the continued interest form!DeSilentio2728 wrote:Just got the "Pending Further Review" status. What does this mean? Anybody else get this?
And it comes with an email stating that I am on hold until the end of April, and that I should fill out a continued interest form. Odd considering I have a well above median LSAT.
Is this YP without the phone interview or did they just not like my application?
The Admissions Committee has concluded its preliminary review of your application; however, it has not yet reached a final decision. At this time, your application has been placed on "Hold" postponing a final decision until late April. Please note that this is not a Wait List. We remain very interested in your candidacy to the law school and will continue to actively consider your application throughout the selection process.
Why would I wait till the end of April for a decision? This is beyond other schools deposit deadlines so it would be pretty difficult for me to justify filling out this form as I wouldn't even receive my financial aid package until the middle of May if I were accepted. I wish they would just WL me, verify my interest in the school via a phone interview, or flat out reject me. This polite WL crap is frustrating.

I know that I (and I believe I saw someone else post on here saying it too) have been admitted off of the hold list already. I haven't seen anyone say they've been admitted off of a Case waitlist yet though. I know a few scenerios don't really give you a lot to make a sound conclusion off of - but theres some info for you.Langfall wrote: Do they take people from their hold list before they choose people from their waitlist?

Hi, not to bring up the phone "interview" again, but they had me schedule what they referred to as a "phone info session," saying they do it for applicants who live further away and can't visit campus. They paired me with a professor in my field of interest, and this seems like the same call other people got, but it really seems like anything but a straightforward interview. For those who have had theirs, should I be prepared to defend my lawyerly aspirations, or is my list of questions regarding student involvement in IP and the greater Cleveland community sufficient to charm my way into an acceptance?

Re: Case Western 2010
I actually just had mine on tuesday (and got in this morning with a scholly!!!). It was pretty informal. PM me who you got, because it might be the same person I did. The interview was mostly a chance for them to answer questions I had about Case, promote Case, and ask a few questions to get a better idea about me outside of the application materials. My interviewer didn't have my application with her, just a little bit of information about me. My interviewer was really nice and extremely helpful.SniperBarbie wrote:Hi, not to bring up the phone "interview" again, but they had me schedule what they referred to as a "phone info session," saying they do it for applicants who live further away and can't visit campus. Congrats. What level of scholly? I know you were leaning towards Stetson, but, does this change anything?roguey wrote:I actually just had mine on tuesday (and got in this morning with a scholly!!!). Re: Case Western 2010
This definitely complicates my decision. Case was the school I was holding out for... and I got 30k per year!!! I'm going to visit Stetson this weekend, and I hope to visit Case the first weekend in April. The deciding factor will likely be my fiancés ability to find a job in Cleveland, and the dual US JD/Spanish Certificado en Derecho program Stetson is creating with the Universidad de Granada. Cleveland does have a better farmer's market than the Tampa Bay area, and I am a fresh food nut. I refuse to eat any processed food, and I strive to buy fresh produce that comes from a source I can see for myself. Needless to say we buy a lot of produce and I don't want to be dependent on Whole Foods or any store like that. I know, I'm a crazy.84Sunbird2000 wrote:Congrats. What level of scholly? Got accepted to Case with $20,000 - making its $20,000 / year without living expenses
Also got accepted to Seton Hall with $35,000 - making it $8,000 / year
Is Case worth it?

I will be at the ASW, both days. I am a native Clevelander, so it's easy for me to get there.
Some posts ago, someone posted that there wasn't even a tour....there are tours on Saturday, both of the law school and the area. It said so on the website, and the snail mail invite that was sent out. Just sayin'....

Hey everyone. I'm in at Case with $10,000 Scholarship as an International Law Fellow. I have also been accepted to the University of Iowa (ranked 26). Do you think I can negotiate with Case Western to receive more scholarship money?

realworldescapee wrote:Ah, yeah I looked at the e-mail again, and there was nothing about physical mail. I also realized I got another e-mail from them with my formal offer of admission. My guess is that they don't do mailed admissions packets or that we'll get them later. Frankly, I'd like no admission's packet as I find most of the one's I've gotten are just clutter that provide information you could have gotten from the website.sarlis wrote:Yeah i got that email but it didn't say anything about mailings, if i read it correctlyrealworldescapee wrote:They sent out an email saying they were having some system issues. I don't think Case sends out anything until May or so (that's when financial aid stuff is supposed to go out, I believe). I have been admitted since December (early decision), and I haven't gotten a thing (other than my acceptance and scholarship emails...oh, and the email and snail mail invite to the ASW). But true about the clutter in most acceptance packets...

In this morning with a $20K/year scholarship. Feels good...that's more than I expected to get.
It's the second of 13 decisions I'm going to get, but it's nice to know that no matter what happens later in this cycle, I could go somewhere for a decent price that would make me happy.

Had my phone interview this morning and it was very pleasant. I enjoyed it and walked away from it wishing that more schools conducted interviews. +1 to CWR

Why does case western send out newsletters to applicants with information pertaining solely to admitted students? I saw an email today and all I could think was wtf!
