Held for review (UT)
Has anyone else who applied ED but was "held for further review" heard anything back from UT yet?

They sent me a form to verify my Texas residency which was granted, but nothing else.

Why are your stats tinyone, if you don't mind me asking?tinyone wrote:They sent me a form to verify my Texas residency which was granted, but nothing else.
Also, did you send a LOCI after you found out you were held?

Re: Held for review (UT)
Haven't heard anything, but I sent a LOCI about a week after I got the news that my app was being held. LSAT around 75%, GPA around median. Out of state. Would really love to go to Texas, even though it could be a big strain for my football allegiance.

Yeah, 169 3.85 here and held. I was a little surprised/disappointed.
They say it's not a denial, waitlist or deferral, but I don't really get how it's not a deferral.

Re: Held for review (UT)
Nada. Then again, I was held in November and I haven't sent in an LOCI yet. I'm really wondering if I should. My LSAT is at the median and my GPA is just above their 25%. I'm also out of state. I just don't know if I stand a chance at all given the high bar they set for out-of-staters.texaspecial88 wrote:anyone on "hold" heard anything on the UT front?
What do people think? Should I send in that LOCI and an updated resume? They won't be looking at my file for a month or so I believe.

It seems like a lot of people have been accepted to UT after being on "hold". Anyone else still haven't heard back?

I haven't heard back yet since being put on hold mid-November... It will be a miracle if I get in, but it's my top choice. Anybody know if they are more likely to put you on hold just because you are a Texas resident? I am 161/3.5x, so well below their numbers...

I wonder why they bothered putting us on hold... We are both well below their medians...

Re: Held for review (UT)
I've been on hold since Nov. 17. 4.0+ GPA and my LSAT is 155-159 (toward the bottom of that range). In-state, non-urm. I sent in a LOCI in Dec. No word back yet.
Also held at Georgetown, SMU and Case Western.
Initially held at Michigan but ultimately rejected.

Has anyone that was put on HOLD received a rejection letter? Or, do they just send them all at the end?

I wonder if we could resurrect this. It's old, but there are apparently a lot of us on hold at UT.

Also held for RD.
167/pending December score, 3.39 (3.8 university GPA), In-state, non-urm.
UT is my top choice, but I am not too surprised about being held for RD due to my really poor freshman year killing my GPA. Hopefully my december LSAT will give me the needed boost.

I have a very similar situation. 168/3.37(LSAC)/3.73(University) I got two F's from a community college about eight years ago, and I wrote an addendum. I'm in-state, too, and white. I decided not to retake the LSAT. I can't believe they didn't just reject me. Maybe they will let us in after being held.

Re: Held for review (UT)
Hopefully the in-state pool is a bit soft this year due to overall law school applications being down. Either way, being a Texas resident is a huge advantage. We have a much smaller pool of applicants competing for twice the number of spots. I want UT so badly I would almost be tempted to tell Dean Ingram in admissions that I will gladly pay OOS tuition in exchange for acceptance

Did you apply to other schools? I applied to every school in Texas with the exceptions of TSU (Thurgood Marshall) and Texas Wesleyan. I'm not going to hear from SMU until late January, and I don't know about Baylor and University of Houston. Tech and St. Mary's already got back to me. I don't think South Texas even looks at anything until March.

Maybe nobody else will apply and they'll have to accept us.

Hahaha. I'm totally with you on that. I'm in-state, applied last year, and was held. I got my rejection in early Februaryaaramil wrote:Hopefully the in-state pool is a bit soft this year due to overall law school applications being down.
