Marquette 2013
Wasn't able to find a thread for them when I searched, so here one is! Just got my small envelope today saying I was accepted, and that more information is coming.
Numbers: 159/3.15
Submitted on 11/12, complete on 11/18, and decision dated 12/03.

Congrats! Got the same thing today. I wonder when they will send out scholarship info, it would be nice to get some help with the tuition.

Thanks! Hopefully soon, I'm curious about the scholarship information too, especially with such a high pricetag.

Receieved the large packet from Marquette today. Good amount of info in packet, including Marquette Lawyer magazine and a schedule of when events will take place this coming spring. Looks like scholarship money won't be awarded until February. That's a bummer, but atleast they give you a little time to decide before initial deposits are due.

Thanks for the heads up, I should go check my mail, heheh. I was hoping for scholarship information too, but like you said, February isn't too bad and will still leave time to make a decision before deposits are due.carman1880 wrote:Receieved the large packet from Marquette today. Has anyone visited? I'd be curious to hear what the campus is like, especially since the new law building is supposed to be finished by fall 2010.

Re: Marquette 2013
Ok, so I need the collective TLS brainpower to help me figure this one out. I was looking on LSN, and there is currently several acceptances, with numbers ranging from and LSAT of 153 to over 160+. There were waitlists of mostly white guys 153-156, and one AA Female with a 150.
The rest of the people still shown as pending have numbers in the 153-158 range, and I'm wondering what you think would be the likelihood of rejections for this group of people, as there has only been one rejection posted so far. I am still under review at Marquette, and am a URM with near median scores. Just a hair under and a hair over on each. It's killing me not knowing, as I would really like an acceptance at Marquette. At this point, they are my top choice.

Re: Marquette 2013
If you're at/near the median and are a URM, I'd imagine you'll be an admit, don't worry too much. At the least you'll be at the top of the waitlist, so your chances are great there. I'll be withdrawing my acceptance soon here, so good luck to you!
Edit:
Woops, forgot the original reason I came back to this thread. Got a nice Christmas card from them today, personally signed and everything, I was impressed.

i think you're in and judging by last year, URMs got the bulk of the money, i'll bet you get a nice scholly too.Philaw wrote:Ok, so I need the collective TLS brainpower to help me figure this one out. Re: Marquette 2013
Thanks for the responses, I was thinking the same thing originally, but I was hoping to be in the first group of acceptances/scholarships, but perhaps it's because of a rolling admissions, as I didn't apply to Marquette until a little later in my submissions. I'm probably just overthinking it, thanks!

Originally applied FT, switched to PT. I was already under review when I did this. Is this going to push back the 8-wk. deadline originally given for decision time, or will the timeframe be the same?

Re: Marquette 2013
I was accepted this past week and I am interested in attending. But I was trying to figure out when they give out scholarship information. It seems no one has received any offers on that front yet. From what I can gather it seems they may come out in February. Anyone else have any information to offer?

I hope the fact that I didn't get any info at first doesn't mean I am out of scholarship consideration. I will be keeping a lookout for a new packet hopefully.

I'm waitlisted there, which I don't quite understand because I got into The University of Denver which is higher ranked and in a MUCH more desirable city. Oh well, we'll see I guess.

I had a co-worker receive a full scholarship offer a couple years ago. So I would assume they still do, but I can't verify that.jayzon wrote:same. Does Marquette do full scholarships?jkh wrote:accepted via snail
In my acceptance packet they said scholarship information should come out in February. So, we may here something anytime now.

Received a $7k/year scholarship offer today. Only contingent on being enrolled at Marquette. Probably my best scholarship offer to date.

I've been on the waitlist for months, but I don't care considering I've gotten into higher ranked schools in nicer cities.

Got 4K today... thats it Marquette? Really? My GPA is @ median and my LSAT is above your median and you give me a measly 4K when your school will cost 50K/year after all is said and done?! Will be withdrawing soon most likely. Good luck to all.

Congratulations!!!!! That's an awesome offer. When did you get the complete/in review email? Did you get any other communication after that?Nightrunner wrote:$27K/year in the mailbox yesterday.
