In At Charleston School of Law
Not exactly a "Top Law School," but I received a fee waiver and thought there could be a lot worse places to spend three years than Charleston. I just received an email that I've been accepted. Anyone else?

Like you said, not one of my top schools, but charleston is a great place. I was surprised when I got the email, hadn't heard a peep out of them for over a month. Do you know if we get scholly info with our packet?

Per the email, a packet goes in the mail today, so I'm hoping scholarship info is included, as I would want some $ to attend. I'm intrigued by maritime law at this point, and I've heard good things about that program.

I'm in as well. Like others have said, not my top choice by far, but would consider it with money. I live in Columbia and Charleston is a lot nicer, obviously.

Just the email from Dean B yesterday. Any idea when scholarship info might show up?

Re: In At Charleston School of Law
anybody heard anything lately? I went complete late Jan. and still have yet to hear ANYTHING... when I called, I was told sometime in April, possibly toward the end of the month. What does this mean?? I have some deposit deadlines at a few other places 4/15... any advice or insight?

Re: In At Charleston School of Law
I got in here...but they haven't, and now after talking to them, won't be offering me a merit scholarship.... they sent out scholarship decisions/emails last week... unless LOTS of people decline their offers....
I still want to go there... but considering every other school I applied to has given me a scholarship, I'm not sure I could justify it...
anyone else going? considering going?

I've been anxiously waiting to hear from Charleston... and hoping for a scholarship myself. If you don't mind me asking, when did you hear you were admitted, and how? What were your credentials? I've been complete since end of Jan and haven't heard yet!!!

Re: In At Charleston School of Law
My application(156/3.5) was complete around the end of Jan., I got an email sometime early Feb. saying I was accepted and would get a info packet of information in a few days...
April 5th is the seat deposit deadline, so if you haven't heard from them by now, they might be waiting to send out letters of acceptance or not, until people decline current offers...I would guess you will hear sometime next week once they know how many people accepted offers.... and perhaps they don't let people know if they are waitlisted...
Pink law have you talked to anyone there? what other schools are you looking into?

Re: In At Charleston School of Law
hey thanks for responding.
I spoke to Dean Benfield via e-mail Monday and he said they already sent out 600 acceptances and 400 rejections already and have about 250 more apps to review (one of which is mine) and I went complete ten weeks ago on 1/28. Charleston is my first choice school, and unfortunately, I have some other school seat deposits next Thursday, I am still being optimistic though. How did you hear about your acceptance? btw, my numbers are 3.2 154LSAT.
So far, I have acceptances at Hofstra, NYLaw, Pace, Quinnipiac, Ave Maria and Widener.
Any advice?

I was accepted in early February after send in my application middle of Jan, by email, then packet came in the mail later. Scholarship came about 2 weeks after that. Dean Benfield made it seem like another round of acceptances would be going out soon. Good luck to you!
Just sent my seat deposit in, hope to see you in the fall

Re: In At Charleston School of Law
i got into ave maria as well... what do you think about this school? I've heard some scary stuff...but they gave me a really good scholarship....
I'm going to say the the smartest thing is to make law school as cheap as possible... .so go with the school that gives you the biggest scholarship? but honestly I probably won't end up taking my own advice and will end up at the school closest to the beach....i donno...

I was also admitted about 10 days ago or so via phone call and then snail mail. No scholly offer though
and I've gotten into other places I like more so I'll be withdrawing

Same on the admit part. Got scholarship info today. I am in the same boat, have other acceptances/scholarships I like more. May would attend if I got a full ride though but probably not.

It's in South Carolina and is pretty new. Established 2003, ABA approved. http://www.charlestonlaw.edu/Home.aspxmephistopheles wrote:darknightbegins wrote:I've never heard of this school. Where is it? How old is it?
