Looks like LSN has no activity for the month of December yet. Hopefully there will be some movement soon.

WMCowgirl wrote:Hi everyone--I am new to this thread and actually JUST submitted my application to American two hours ago. It obviously has not been sent/received...but I had a few questions.

I see from previous posts that there is an online status check website? Or, do they email?

Also, do you know when they plan on making RD decisions?

And last question...what do you think my chances are with a 158 and a 3.65? I have worked three years and have a Masters degree from UVA (hoping that all helps).
American should be emailing you shortly after you apply with the website. Looking at my email, I received same day response (I applied on November 4).

Regular decisions are made on a rolling basis - American is kinda funky from what I can tell. The LSN has a list of the schools and the decision dates as well as GPA and LSATs for those admitted/rejected. If you haven't seen it already: http://american.lawschoolnumbers.com/applicants/0809/

I think the masters will help you out a lot! American is really into diversity at their campus and having people with different levels of experience and knowledge is, in my impression, very helpful to them!

Good luck and I hope that helped!

From the JD Application Codes page, Decision Made means:

"Your file has been reviewed and a decision has been rendered by the Committee on Admissions. Decisions are sent via mail. If the decision has not reached you within two weeks of this status please email your Admissions Counselor. Applicants with last name A-K can contact Sarah Overman soverman@wcl.american.edu or L-Z contact Laura Faulkner faulkner@wcl.american.edu. Decisions will not be given by phone or email."

They added the bold, not me.

I don't know, this a safety for me, I have been getting quick acceptances from my safeties- it seems as though generally people are auto-admitted if they are above 75th percentile in both LSAT and GPA, although I have gotten accepted to a few schools where this isnt the case already- they could just be looking at your file more cloesly that would be my guess, but who knows

My status currently says "Application Incomplete-Waiting on Future LSAT". Once my December score comes in, how long do you think it will be before I get a decision? My application is already complete asides from my December score so hopefully it won't be too long...

So if anyone has heard back, how long has the time between decision made and you actually hearing from American?

The one person to post in this thread said it came via ordinary priority mail. If it truly is being sent using USPS priority mail it should be 2-3 days. Though that's without knowing if WCL sends out the mail the same day it updates status checker (ex. decision made after the last mail pickup time for the day), or an exceptionally slow processing time at the local postal branch, etc.

Decision made today as well, 12/15 went complete on 12/4 so I am guessing they love me or truly hate me haha, any opinions?

My date changed today too for Maryland and American...Maryland changed to 12/16 which is kind of strange and American changed to 12/15...I submitted 12/4 and received emails for status checker from the schools that same day...

American has a really high turn over of applications. They don't mull over very many, most people on LSN who've gotten decisions have had them within a few weeks of submitting apps.
