Joining in to say I think I win - complete 9/29, with an update 11/9 and then nothing. I really like American, but I this is really bringing me down about it, not going to lie.emtuoh wrote:Nope. I think it's really interesting how different schools have different "personalities" when it comes to admissions. Some I didn't think much of when I applied, but have really respected/been impressed by the way they handle their admissions. And vice versa. I'm wondering if I should just withdraw... sort of a preemptive, "You can't fire me, I quit!" kind of thing.

Absolutely. I applied to Cincy on a relative whim but their admissions counselors are actually making me want to go there, while American was one of my top choices, but I'm getting more and more frustrated.slb052 wrote:

thats obviously YP though. with stellar numbers like that youre not only golden in T14 youre guaranteed money t20.
while the rest of us shlubbs sit with our 3.1 162 and a 11/23 app complete from American and not a single word since applying which for me was right before halloween.
(as you can tell this has been depressing me.)

Same for me with Iowa. They sent me a fairly personal email encouraging me to apply--so I did. Now, they're offering a full ride and I've received multiple emails from various people there (and a nice, hand written note from the dean). I wasn't fully considering it before, but now...
I've also been accepted at American, but they've not put forth even half the effort Iowa has so far (and I was much more set on American before this cycle began).

Re: American U
Yeah, personalized letters and e-mails make it hard for an admitted applicant to not attend. Yet, American typically sends more follow-up information during the Spring. And it's a higher-ranked school with more opportunity in the (arguably) best legal market in the US.thepcv wrote:+1emtuoh wrote:Absolutely. I'm not sure of your goals, career aspirations, etc. but unless you want to practice in Ohio, I'd lean towards American. but I'm probably biased since WCL was my first admit and my first choice.

Re: American U
My application went complete on December 14th and I had an acceptance on December 22nd. I was really worried because the decision was made pretty quickly and my LSAT was so/so at best.

Re: American U
I, too, was accepted very quickly by American (sent 12/8, accepted 12/15). I only scored 163 on the LSAT, so I was surprised by the quick response. I don't recall if American sent out notices in batches, simply because I didn't spend much time checking this thread along with my status checker, owing to the quick acceptance.moviechicka wrote:My application went complete on December 14th and I had an acceptance on December 22nd. I am a URM. 154/3.5. I have a Masters in Communications and I've worked in publishing and film for a few years. My softs are pretty good. That might have contributed to the quick turnaround. However, LSP only had me as a Weak Consider for the school. I was certain I was going to be rejected.

Well congratulations!!! I am a 158/3.6 with a Masters in Administration and Supervision and I've worked in education for a few years. I thought my softs were good, but it has been officially a month (today actually) and still no word. Maybe they weren't as good as your softs

American flat out asks you what other schools you're applying to. I couldn't figure why when I started the application but this makes it all clear. I wish I'd left that section blank.
