Two questions for ya:
1) Where do most 1Ls choose to live?
2) Would you mind to elaborate on the social scene in Winston-Salem? What does the city have to offer?
1) I think most 1Ls stay at the Crowne apartments, but there are a lot of us in houses nearby. Wake will have a "House Hunt" over the summer where you can meet your future classmates and tour some of the housing options. They will also have a webpage where people post rooms/apartments. There are lot of options!
2) Surprisingly, there is a lot to do in Winston. The student body association (SBA) has "Bar Review" every Thursday night at a different bar or restaurant. It's good to take a break from homework and hang out with other law students. Also a good way to meet 2Ls and 3Ls. The football and basketball games are also fun and SBA and other students host tailgates. Winston also has a great art scene, but I haven't taken advantage of this. Hope that helps!

So did anyone just get the humourous questionairre from the Wake admissions office? I have no idea what an admission office would want with "my best one-liner joke". Are jokes an integral part of being an attorney?

And what are you guys planning on wearing for scholars day? I was thinking khaki pants and a button down or sweater (although apparently my username suggests otherwise, I am a girl).

I was planning on khaki pants and a button up shirt. Business casual is the way to go, based on my couple other visits if you go full suit and tie it really just looks like you are trying too hard.
And for anyone who has a good one liner, wanna loan me one? Haha

Can anyone here clarify if the 2/3 stipulation applies to you in the overall entering class ranking or just the section you are actually in? My email stated, " your cumulative class standing must remain in the upper two-thirds of your class."
I am waiting on a reply from the aid office but just thought I would ask here too.

Pretty sure it means overall class ranking rather than your section.

Hey everyone, I need a little bit of advice. I've been in "admin review" since 12/3 and I was considering sending a follow up email to Ms. Nutt expressing my continued interest. My scores are less than impressive (148,3.37), but I have decent softs (at least I think I do based upon the definition that was derived from the context in which the word was used in this forum), and am banking on those getting me to the committee review. I have met with Ms. Nutt in person and have exchanged emails before when she did an admissions presentation at my undergraduate institution, and because of that I think she may remember me. Also, I figure that if they were going to deny me outright, they would have done so already. So, do I write the follow up email or not?

It's not like they are going to rescind your acceptance, but it is graduate school. I would wear the khakis.
I'm wearing slacks and a button-down shirt.

Based on my past conversations with admissions at WF, I don't think it will hurt you.
They do seem pretty open and interested in the people behind the application.
