Is anyone planning on having a parent/parents visit with them? I'm sure I'll get ridiculed for even asking, but my parents are just as curious as I am in visiting schools. I have no problem in going alone, and if people will laugh and think it's weird that parents are there I won't bring them. I'm just curious as to how this is perceived or if anyone else plans to bring a parent along.

Go ahead and laugh and point at me for asking....

I think they could definitely come check out the school, but I'm not sure whether they'd be allowed to come to the events. I think seating is really limited.

I noticed they say that the events are closed to the public on the website where you sign up for the events. I imagine that means everyone but students. But it won't hurt to check.

I know for asd they regular ask they ask for number of guests... so I don't see why they wouldn't have accomadations. I'm bringing my fiancee.

I think it would be fine if you bring them. I don't think anyone will care... and if some one does than they are immature and they are the one that needs to be pointed and laughed at.

That being said, I think it would probably be a good idea to have a second pair of eyes and ears. Do what ever you feel comfortable with.

As many of you know this is my second cycle, my wife and I visited three schools last year and she was welcomed at all with one exception. At one ASD it lasted two days, she was not allowed to attend one scholarship dinner (and it was an awesome dinner!), they used that dinner to try and sell us, there was maybe 20 students and probably 20 staff members from Dean to the law review editor.

I think it would be fine if you brought your parents. My wife will be there with me, maybe (sitter issue).

I'm bringing my wife.

It's always good to get some clarity from someone not as personally invested in the process.

Here's to hoping for massive scholarships for all of us admits tomorrow. I like Wake, but I would LOVE them if they made it rain like a Lil John video. Good luck everyone!

Since we got the update so early in the day, should we expect an email later today? If I remember correctly the earlier batch received the update late in the day and then got the email the next day. I could be wrong though.

Congrats! I knew you guys and gals would get one! Your amounts may even be larger than the first batch.

Edit: Now hurry up and sign up for the Scholar day this Friday!

I'm assuming there's a special admitted scholars website or something at which to do this since my regular old admitted students website has no info about this admitted scholars day? It doesn't even list the admitted scholars day on the upcoming events calendar. I haven't gotten an on official email about the award yet to tell me how to sign up.

I am a Jan. 15 admit, and my status is now Admitted Scholar. Congrats everyone! (Especially those of you who have been waiting from the first batch of admits!)

There will be a link to register when you receive the e-mail notification of the scholarship.

Looks like registration may be closed for this date though (the 5th was already closed). The form says it is inactive.

Most of us had our notification change to "Admitted Scholar" on Friday 1/8 (some on Thursday 1/7). We received our e-mails on Tuesday 1/12 in the afternoon (I received mine at 3:33 pm). So, I don't know whether you will hear today, but someone previously mentioned that they planned to notify everyone either yesterday or today...so hopefully that bodes well for today.

They said (via e-mail to those not already signed up - see last post on page 27) that as long as you go to one of the ASD's before March 5th, you would still be considered for the Fletcher Scholarship. If both are already closed, they'll probably mention alternate arrangements in the e-mail they send out. If not, e-mail them.
