I told you guys not to worry! Ha ha ha

Dean Ortiz knows about all the TLS kids, all right, particularly the more prolific posters. Oh she does ... she knows where you sleep (since you applied and it probably has your address on it).

That is the number I got the admitted call from. You're in.

msch0i wrote:Congrats! What are you stats, if you don't mind me asking? And when did you receive the call? Should I still be anxiously hoping for one today? :(
3.4 (UCLA, I'm still in school), 169. I got the call at 3:38pm PST.

Congrats to the new admits!

As for me, I'm starting to get a sinking feeling it's not going to happen for me.

Full-tuition is cool. Pepperdine is not.

Half-tuition is cool. So is Irvine :D.

Here I am, playing some PS3 after class, and slow to get to the phone - I'm thinking, "hmm...949 number, why would someone from south orange county be calling?" then I pick up the phone and get blown away by the fact that it's UCI law. Because I applied at the deadline, I didn't think there was any way they would have gotten to me this quickly.

She was very cordial on the phone, asked me if I had any off days so I could come visit and sit in on a class. Sad thing is, I can't even notify my parents because they are out of the country currently and left their phones back in the states.

+1 just say no to ken starr and pepperdine.

I like that uci will be the biggest player in the oc market - that's a darned good market, plus have some in in LA. And the guaranteed on-campus housing - and guaranteed schol - is big. Those gpa requirements on some schools schols and talk of section stacking make me nervous

Yeah, I feel like this is a big deal. Plenty of schools give out scholarships, but almost always with the stipulation that you need to stay in the top X% or have a gpa above 3.Y to keep it. Unless you somehow manage to have a gpa below 2.0 here (and you'd probably have to proactively make an effort to bomb finals for that to happen), the money's guaranteed to keep coming for all three years.

No more Ken Starr at Pepps, he's moved on to Baylor.
