When was your last in-review date? Did your status checker change to DR before you received the e-mail?liquidsword wrote:accepted today via email...likely will withdraw unless $$ is right.

Mine changed today as well. I believe this is the third or fourth time it's changed, the most recent being 3/11 if I recall correctly.FunkyJD wrote:My in-review date changed to today. Anyone else?

I just received my financial aid award letter, and it says that I was awarded a full tuition scholarship, which is weird since they only told me I got 25k or 20k depending on which option I choose. I dunno... did this happen to anyone else? I'm wondering if there is a mix-up.

I would guess they meant full tuition first year with 25K the 2nd and 3rd year if you stay over a 3.25 or 20K/yr no strings.roguey wrote:I just received my financial aid award letter, and it says that I was awarded a full tuition scholarship, which is weird since they only told me I got 25k or 20k depending on which option I choose. That is the option I got from them.

Oh... oops. That makes sense. Re: Has anyone heard from Chicago-Kent?
I'd like to think there will be sort of movement soon. Both Maryland and Chicago-Kent have had me under review for a couple of weeks now, both for their part time programs, yet I haven't heard anything else. I know I haven't been waiting that long, so I guess I can't complain. At least they have me under review. Houston hasn't even gotten that far.roofles wrote:PTb.j. wrote:Are you a FT or PT applicant?roofles wrote:Mine changed today as well. I guess I really can't complain. I've already been accepted to Hofstra, so I know I will be going to school next year. (Rutgers-Camden has also accepted me, but I'd either need to start in the fall as a PT student or in the summer to become FT, which I don't think I want to do.) And I applied to such a large list of schools that I figured I'll be accepted to at least one more. I don't mean to sound like an ass, but I was hoping for a school that was away from home, just so I could try something new. If I went to Hofstra, I'd have to deal with all of the personal stuff that I've dealt with over the past few years, both good and bad, and I'd rather essentially isolate and then devote myself to school for three, or four, years. Maybe Houston or Chicago is too far away from home, but I'll never know unless I try.
I know a month isn't a particularly long time to be under review at any of these schools, but I'm getting antsy. I really need to stop being such a pussy and call. I'm so disgustingly sweet on the phone I will probably give the admissions people diabetes, so I don't think I need to worry about coming across as rude.

I'm a wrap at Chi-Kent. WD'ing sans decision, tired of waiting. Called to see if there was going to be a DR soon for my file, and was told probably not for two more weeks -- maybe. Sorry, but no thanks; there's no incentive for me to wait any longer.
Good to luck to everyone else waiting.

How did you WD by email or letter? If by email where did you send it to?FunkyJD wrote:I'm a wrap at Chi-Kent. WD'ing sans decision, tired of waiting. E-mail to Gabriela Amador (Assistant Director of Admissions). Kept it short, sweet: "Yo, CK: It's been real. Peace. Signed, F-JD"waverider wrote:How did you WD by email or letter? For anyone going to Kent and offered a scholarship, which offer are you taking:
-more money with strings (need 3.2)
or
-less money but guaranteed?
Tough decision...

Re: Has anyone heard from Chicago-Kent?
I haven't gotten the packet yet, so I don't know what my exact offer is (I got 15k according to the IITPortal thing, but there's no indication of the strings on there), but if I were going to choose, I'd pick the less $, no strings. Or conversely, whichever option ends up being cheapest if you LOSE the scholly.MKE111 wrote:For anyone going to Kent and offered a scholarship, which offer are you taking:

However, this is purely an academic exercise for me, since I'm not going to Kent. The price, even with the scholly made me .

Their handbook has helpful information on the mandatory curve. 30-40% of students will get a B+ (3.3) or better in most courses.

How the hell can Chicago-Kent be more expensive than Notre Dame, and come within $1k of Texas OOS?keg411 wrote:However, this is purely an academic exercise for me, since I'm not going to Kent. The price, even with the scholly made me .
