Would it be tacky if I put and Ode to Cardozo in here? To try to convince the adcomms to hurry along with my application and hopefully render an acceptance?

I'd like to do it to the tune of this song my mom's best friend taught me (they've known each other since freshman year of college and I think that's pretty darn neato)... it goes something like "Oy oy oy, zeta veta zoy, what have you done to my little Yiddish boy? Send him to college to learn to read and write, and he brings a shiksa home on Yom Kippur night"

lolll! freshman year my then-boyfriend and my best friend Amy were hanging out and his mom called him. We (he, I, Amy, and Amy's boyfriend) were all planning on going to his house for spring break. The phone call was very loud and my friend related to me that his mother yelled: "I sent you to Jewish school so you'd bring home an Adam and an Aleeza, not an Amy, an Archie, and a Sibley!"

My current boyfriend's family is much kinder. I was home alone for Christmas and New Year's because I couldn't take off of work and my family went to Key West... so I went to their house for Christmas. Their reaction? "I'm surprised her mom doesn't want her at home for Christmas." And then they took me out for Chinese food =D
I also went with them for Thanksgiving. His elderly society aunt did ask my last name, but if you don't know the spelling it could be Jewish so I think I squeezed by there.

That's awesome. It's weird being the non-Jewish girl in a group of orthodox Jews. Now reform and conservative are a lot cooler about it. I grew up in a Jewish neighborhood in Memphis. It was near the orthodox synagogue, but Memphis has the largest reform/conservative synagogue in the US, so mostly they lived in the neighborhood (they didn't have as many qualms about driving to temple). I think that's one of the main reasons I applied to Cardozo, I'm just used to being around Jews, and I know quite a few people who have gone there, lol.

Went complete on 1/20. Dean's merit scholarship and public service scholarship? Not sure what that is exactly, but I'll sift through these posts since I remember someone else talking about it as well.

IN VIA VOICEMAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stuck in a meeting at work, saw the 212 number, flipped out and had to restrain myself from racing outside to take the call.

This was my top choice school and I am beyond happy Only way I wouldn't go would be if Fordham says yes.

I got the call last week and my status says "Decision rendered and sent" as of 2/4. I don't know exactly when it changed because I checked my status on 2/3, saw that, freaked out, and THEN checked my voicemail.
