Welcome to the "supposedly" wait-listed club.
I really, really hope that on Monday, i get that Big envelope. I'm going to run to my computer and post a Big TOLD YOU SO on TLS.
I really hope you're right and I applaud your optimism, but it just doesn't look good for us. (1/7 169 3.3)

Yes. The 1/5 people reported getting an additional email that said the email was only sent to those who were already accepted.
Thanks. Sorry to keep dragging this question out, but do you think that "new" deadline only applies for applicants already accepted (those who received the email) or for everybody?

A question about the scholarships - does anyone know what the appropriate length of your response to each of the questions should be? Most of them could easily use a page or more to fully respond to, but I would hate to be the annoying kid in the class who hands in a thirty page paper when the the teacher asked for a paragraph summary.

Yeah, this is just like the Cornell defferal group I was in. Was a combo of splitters, URMs, some people with numbers that seemed like they should get in, lots of others real splitters with possible but not shoe-in numbers, great softs, etc.

Just like to say Vandy's "Obiter Dictum" is awesome. I just finished it and feel like I know a ton about the school already. 200+ pages. Thanks class of 2011. Unless there's an acceptance from UVA or Duke in my future, I think my decision's made.
After just getting letters and phone calls, when a school actually sends you something useful to help you make a decision, you see how lacking all your other schools' admissions packets were.
And +1 for spending $10 to send it.

Anyone have any idea how deep into the WL Vandy typically goes?

from Lawschoolnumbers.... for vanderbilt the ratio of waitlisted to rejected was a 3.3 to 1. 30% of those waitlisted withdrew before a final decision of accept or rejection is made. and 10% of those who were waitlisted were accepted.

Still UR 12/9. I'm not even paying attention to that. Just hoping I didn't get rejected at Michigan and my Chiago WL interview this week goes well.

Acceptances are delivered via USPS priority mail so 1-2 days. Everything else is regular old snail mail. So yeah, he's probably right. Not to be a downer!

Good luck with that!
Both are awesome schools and it sounds like you've got a decent shot at Chicago, which is a step or two above Michigan.
