Re: UC Davis
I´m not checking mine again until next Friday...I´m tired of checking and getting my hopes up bc the status never changes and my app is awaiting review, so maybe by then it will be under review.

Re: UC Davis
and yet again, nothing. After this week it will be mid-march...I think we are going to deposit time. Does anyone know when Davis's deposit deadline is?

What I learned tonight: That :24 or :25 is no lie. It's not 6p or 6:00:10. It is :24/5.
Otherwise, I've noticed that sometimes my checker refreshes its update time to a 9:24am or so on 3/4.
I wonder if this means they've mailed me a WL. Is that how they WL?

It has happened to me as well. I think that the moment you see the 9:24 am on 3/4 is the moment that the server is processing the changes for the day.ozarkhack wrote:What I learned tonight: That :24 or :25 is no lie. It's not 6p or 6:00:10. It is :24/5.

I got the same 3/4 status checker date back in February, so I don't think it means anything.

This is truly terrible.

Re: UC Davis
I don't know the average, but I got the "Application Received" email on Jan. 4th and went to, "Evaluation in Progress" on Feb. 19th. I'm still at, "Evaluation in Progress" two and half weeks later, but I'm hoping that means that I at least didn't go into an "auto-decline" pile. I'd like to think that, if they do reject me, they at least gave me due consideration.phoenix323 wrote:Anyone know the average time someone's app stays in the "Awaiting Evaluation" phase?
I think I am also going to stop checking the status checker. I'm not nearly as pissed at UCLA and Hastings as I am with Davis and I think it's because of the status checker.
Despite that logical, patient outlook, however, the theme song from Jeopardy has been playing in the back of my mind for months and will continue until this cycle is over!

I don't know how long you all have been reading this thread... but two weeks is nothing for "Evaluation if Process." I was admitted after about a month and a half of a status saying "Evaluation if Process" so I wouldn't hold your breath or go to jumping any conclusions.
164/3.5 Applied 11/16. Under eval since mid-late Jan. accepted status checker 3/3

Re: UC Davis
I actually wish there wasn't a status checker. Then I could at least imagine they were doing something with my application. Instead I have a mental image of it sitting somewhere on a desk, languishing with other applications.
Given the amount of time it seems to take to go from 'under evaluation' to 'decision rendered,' I'm wondering how I can possibly hear back from Davis before seat deposits are due at other places.
I have to imagine the applications are ranked by index number, and that we haven't had ours looked at must mean they just haven't gotten to our index range. Or maybe it's random.
A quick question: on the "Documents Received" page, under the category "Documents Missing," does everyone else have a blank bullet point there?

They say the process is completely random, but the way things are going they are obviously indexing. What school WOULDN'T index? Of course they want to review and grab all their top applicants first...it's only logical. The sooner you notify your top applicants with admission, the more likely they will consider you for matriculation. And yeah I have that blank bullet point as well.missinglink wrote:I actually wish there wasn't a status checker. Then I could at least imagine they were doing something with my application. I'm at/above the 75th percentile and have been awaiting evaluation for a month and a half...adonai wrote:They say the process is completely random, but the way things are going they are obviously indexing. I really need some help, some advice.
I got into UC Davis and I also got into Southwestern (with 20k scholarship renewable). I am sure I will get the same amount of grant aid if I go to Davis. I live in LA so I would have to move to Davis if I decide to go there. I plan on practicing law in LA area. what would you guys do? Would you go to Davis and have a little more debt after graduation (because of housing fees) or go to Southwestern and have less loans.
I really need some good advice.
Is UC Davis' prestige compared to Southwestern really worth for me to move all the way to Davis and have more loans although I will come back to LA after graduation? I would love to know which school will ensure that I will be able to get a nice job after graduation.
Thanks
Thanks guys!

Pretty much common knowledge throughout all of CA - surprised this was even a question.

Next two weeks (especially March 2X-March 31) will be heavy in decisions, if the trend of last year reflects this year.

On top of that, someone DID get an e-mail saying that decisions would be made by April.Inygma wrote:Next two weeks (especially March 2X-March 31) will be heavy in decisions, if the trend of last year reflects this year.
Guess that means I should just relax and sleep on this for 2 weeks. Then all bets are off.

Re: UC Davis
I'm just hoping a lot of people trying to decide between Hastings and Davis choose Hastings so it will open up seats for us waitlisted!
