i see hardly any upside in them making any decisions now until the deposit deadline passes. Though it wont really give them a good sense of everyone who is going to go, it will certainly drop a lot of people from the admitted list who dont deposit. Theoretically, a lot of those who dont deposit will be people who got $$$, so outside chance they are hoping to have some money open up that they can give to the applicants currently in limbo instead of just WL/dinging them now (im looking at you encyclo)

I'm going to guess it's because WUSTL's deposit is refundable, some people are using it to buy some more time to make a decision.

Why is today a lost cause? I thought that WashU usually sends out emails at like 445 CST or something...

i was going to suggest that as well. i think schools seem to wait until the end of the day to send out emails.

i'm telling you... its the safe way to go. that way if a decision comes you'll be happy and if it doesn't you'll be whatever. unless it doesn't come by the 2nd week of april then all hell can break loose.

I asked what that means specifically, and she said within the week because they'll be sending the emails out in "batches." So I don't think there's going to be some mass email sent to a kagilllion of us. It sounds like they're going to send it out to us in groups throughout the week? At least that's how I interpreted it.

Just thank gawd I have my kitty, Miss Rebecca, to hug as I wait.

If they were done with acceptances, wouldn't the deluge of rejections and waitlists have started by now? I dunno why some people seem to think that they're done with good news.
