Ditto to the bolded, although I spent the $12 app fee anyway.keg411 wrote: Thanks! I'm also applying to Wake this weekend so I'm joining the rest of the "We <3 the South" crew in that thread as well. Too bad I didn't do well enough for Vandy .

Re: Univ of Georgia
The reception starts at 6, so all of the lawyers at Alston and the other Atlanta area Georgia Law grads will probably still be in their suits from work. The email says business attire, so I'm planning on wearing a suit, but I'm still interested to hear what others are wearing as well.belkin00 wrote:What are people wearing to the admits reception at Alston? How do I RSVP for the open house/ASW on the 27th? I don't think I've gotten anything about that, but I probably just forgot.

You haven't, they're really late with sending things like this out it appears ... you can do it from their admitted students page though.eandy wrote:How do I RSVP for the open house/ASW on the 27th? I don't think I've gotten anything about that, but I probably just forgot.

In my daily love to UGA: If you take me, I will change my Yankees avatar to a Braves one. (At the very least we both don't like the Mets )
Meanwhile, I am still incomplete . Will e-mail them tomorrow if it doesn't change.

I'm thisclose to withdrawing my app...I'm tired of being held indefinitely even though I've pretty much decided on a school. But I actually paid for this application, soI feel obligated to see it through, you know?

Held for further review. Does this mean that I don't have a shot in hell? Or worse, that I won't find out my status for another month?mytwocents wrote:I'm thisclose to withdrawing my app...I'm tired of being held indefinitely even though I've pretty much decided on a school. I'm going to the reception tomorrow, but i don't have any jackets that fit me (slacking on my suit collection, I know)
I hope a sweater/shirt+tie combination works.

Can someone educate me as to what Georgia's "hold" policy is -- and how it differs from a waitlist? Or is it substantially the same?

You can either get accepted, waitlisted or rejected after being held.FunkyJD wrote:Can someone educate me as to what Georgia's "hold" policy is -- and how it differs from a waitlist? Or is it substantially the same?

Rejected today via status checker. It was a reach and I didn't plan on attending but rejections always hurt lol. 162/3.5

Y'all have fun. I'm in the library pretending to be studying for a midterm tomorrow (last day before spring break...). It sucks because I'm like 6 miles away, too.rad law wrote:This guy. Do you think there will be one?tinyone wrote:Soooo who is hoping for an open bar at this A+B reception?

UGA Law A&B reception -
Nice meeting future UGA law students. Open bar was nice. Associates were very helpful and all very passionate about UGA. The dean stressed that the tuition would probably not increase astronomically, and GA budget cuts would have minimal effect. I think the associates had a lot more rosy Biglaw outlook than I did; they graduated '08. The one thing everyone kept emphasizing was how cheap UGA was compared to the education and placement.
Also, I got to meet Miss GA, who is going to UGA Law next year, which was cool.
