How about a male yankee lover to watch as well

? 3's a party, plus it's more protection from the large majority of Braves fans who will literally want to scalp us lol.

Of course, plus all my best friends are guys anyways. I was born without the gene that allows me to relate to females.
On another note: Has anyone sent in a LOCI? I'm sending mine in today and looking for a mailing address with a street address in it. Right now I just have Hirsch Hall.
ugh: edit because I hate poor grammar, especially mine.

I sent one. I used the address on the top left corner of the application:

Just sent an email declining my acceptance and my scholarship money. I love UGA and Athens, but I have pretty much 100% decided to attend Vanderbilt. Yall still may see me around this thread, but best of luck to everyone.
If anyone wants my UGA Law bumper sticker, I'll send it to the first person to PM me.

Has anyone heard anything about the in-state tuition increase that is expected to happen for 2010-2011? I currently have the in-state tuition equalization for 1 semester the first year, but the only thing that is making me shy away from UGA is the fact that in-state tuition could increase 35%. I loved the school when I visited, but hadn't found out about the possible increase until I came home.
I'll probably call and ask, but figured I'd ask on here first to see if any of you happened to know.

As far as I know, most of the budget cuts/tuition increases that were discussed were for the undergraduate institution. Dean White said that the law school was pretty much autonomous from the undergrad in terms of funding and is not facing the same problems. The Board of Regents meets in the summer to set tuition, so we won't know anything final until then.
However, please let us know what they say if you call.

I e-mailed them about it yesterday but haven't received an answer.

Does anyone know anything about UGA dorms? I heard there are some dorms reserved for law students. Can anyone confirm that?

They have grad housing, but I don't think they have blocs specifically for law students.
If you're interested in living with/near other law students, around seven or eight 1Ls (including myself) are living on the 6th floor of the 909 Broad St. Apartments so far next year and I think a few others might be joining. The property company is trying to stick us all on the same floor which I think is very considerate of them.

That sounds really nice. It looks like I've got a place for next year downtown for 250/mo. When there are prices like that, there isn't any real need to stay on campus anyway.

Yeah for per room on a four bedroom/2 bath. I got it through a family friend who's had people living there for like 7 years. I don't think its full of amenities (I've never actually been inside), but it was semi-recently renovated. I should honestly go check it out before I commit, but still.

Hey all. Haven't been around the thread in a while as I have been waiting on some other acceptances. But it looks like I am back to where I thought I would end up, staying in Athens! If anyone has any questions about Athens, let me know. I have lived here with my wife the past two years and love it. There is a great postgraduate community, and I know a lot of 2L and 3L's that have enjoyed their last few years.
Anyone else hear making a decision between UGA and Emory?
Anyone else here asking for more money from UGA?

Definitely asking to be considered for more money!
I know a few of us have been accepted to Emory but without scholarships its almost ridiculous to consider over UGA (that is from someone who wants to work in the SE, and will be paying for LS alone though FWIW).
Also, lol @ BigMediocre, bringing the 1L class together one 909 2br/2ba at a time =) they should start paying you to be a leasing agent (side note: I'm planning on living there too, so get in on a good thing y'all).

MissVik, how were you not considered for scholarship money at Emory w/ a 169? They are screwy with their money.
It will basically amount to a little more than $10k a year more to go to Emory over UGA and I don't know if it gains me all that much if I am pretty certain I want to be in Atlanta (or at least the Southeast).
I am ready for some Bar Review at Trapeze this coming fall. I love me some free excellent beer. Anyone else in this thread already living in Athens?

I think the general consensus is yes, that did happen, especially with OOS. People aren't kidding when they tell you to apply early. Sorry, and good luck getting off of the waitlist!

Hey Married0L, Vik and I were both in the same boat with no money at Emory (and I'm a 170). I actually visited the school and flat out asked the dean why I wasn't offered scholarship money. Check for my post in the Emory thread if you're interested in how they divvy up scholarship money.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
