Re: In at Notre Dame (2013)
Hey guys,
I just wanted to confirm whether or not Notre Dame's ED was binding... Other forum searches stated that it was non-binding. My own research into Notre Dame's website states that EA (non-binding) is only for their undergrad institution along with possible other graduate departments.
But on their law site it only states the binding ED option. http://law.nd.edu/admissions-and-financ ... y-decision
I see people on LSN who wrote EA on their notre dame profile. Are they mistaken?

Notre Dame wrote:Early Decision applicants who are offered admission have until January 29 to accept the offer of admission. At the point that an Early Decision offer of admission is accepted, the candidate then commits to enrolling at Notre Dame Law School and, in so doing, he or she agrees to withdraw applications to other law schools.

So this was actually just an EA hiding under the pretense of ED?... sigh... wouldn't everyone try EA then?oneforship wrote:From your link:finalaspects wrote:Hey guys,

never mind... i guess then you would need to give up on the other schools that wouldn't have responded by january...

Should I consider applying? I sent in most of my apps on 10/31 but didn't think I'd have a shot at Notre Dame so didn't. But then I see you got waitlisted and we're are almost similar: 2.53 (3.07 upward trend)/163 URM (Hispanic). I have the application complete but I would still have to write the Why Notre Dame essay. Is it worth applying this late with my numbers?samer wrote:No I don't mind you asking, my numbers just suck lol. 2.7, 159, AA male. I wrote a kick ass personal statement and a Why ND essay because I love that school. I hope this turns into good news in April but I'm not all that optimisticfinalaspects wrote:What are you stats if you don't mind me asking?samer wrote:I got a letter with return service requested so I figured it wasn't a rejection. I opened it up to find the waitlist notice. I applied Early Decision so that might explain the quick response.

I would say yes to both of you. You never know what will happen especially with your URM statuses. As for chicoalto0649, you already have a fee waiver so you will lose nothing by trying. There is only something left to gain.chicoalto0649 wrote:valley splitter wrote: Should I consider applying? Re: In at Notre Dame (2013)
you should try and request this on those other threads that are already 50+ pages. Cornell has 64 pages with no acceptances what so ever. At least notre dame accepted a few people. fordham thread actually has songs and poems...Veritas wrote:NOW!

Re: In at Notre Dame (2013)
Thanks for the input. The only reason I asked is because there is someone with similar numbers who got waitlisted but I think he applied EA/ED. That's why I was wondering about applying regular especially this late. I guess I will though. I can't really lose anything and have something to gain.finalaspects wrote:I would say yes to both of you. You never know what will happen especially with your URM statuses. You all should put rosaries up on this thread. I mean, with copy/paste it wouldn't take that long.Zojirushi wrote:finalaspects wrote:fordham thread actually has songs and poems...

Re: In at Notre Dame (2013)
::waits in anticipation::
EA---no word yet. I dont know if I am supremely paranoid but when I called the other day to confirm that I had been entered into the EA pool, the lady on the phone said I was "Early Actioned" and I immediately decided this means the decision is made and my fate is sealed---but she just doesnt want to break my heart over the phone. I asked her when I would hear by and she said "6-8 weeks generally" and this made me even more psycho paranoid because I was like "shes soo hiding something from me! EA hears earlier!!"
in conclusion: I will likely wind up in therapy before this cycle ends

Re: In at Notre Dame (2013)
So I'm brainstorming my Why ND essay and trying to figure out if I should bring religion into it at all. My religion will most certainly set me apart from 99% of the students at ND, but I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Obviously I didn't put religion in my PS for all my other schools, but ND specifically asks what religion I belong to so they are already aware. So what's the consensus? Address religion or no?
