Hey I got that e-mail too like a month ago. But asking for something else b/c I was out of school for 2 years. It means they are interested and you're borderline...send in the additional information and input how you're interested in attending there...that's what I did. And the next day...got the call IN AT BU! Best of luck, if you have any questions PM me, but you're looking good. Better to get the additional information e-mail request than to get waitlisted/rejected. They take a holistic approach...thank God for BU's adcomms!

Re: BU! woot.
man that is rough. Getting into T14 is not as easy as I had originally assumed back in June. Ok...I'm just rooting for you to get into BU...BU looks to be my top choice even over usc & ucla if I get lucky that is. You can try sending them additional info about yourself...that's what I did but they requested it via e-mail...but still. Like a why BU? Anyways good luck and join the BC thread if you apply!finalaspects wrote:i may not even go though even if im accepted... i mean i would if it was the only school that accepted me but yea... eee! just got the call!
ok, and then i went downstairs to check my mail and i also got into boston college and then, obviously, i began to doubt my sanity over who called me. i am almost positive it was BU..because, well, i paid attention..but can someone confirm the number for me as 617 552 2688?
JUDGE ME.

Well, I'm pretty certain that BC isn't calling people - they made it pretty clear that decisions are going out by mail. So you got into my top 2 choices in the same day. I am indescribably jealous.miche1esim wrote:eee! just got the call!

Correction. BU is 617 area code, not 671. Also, BC's phone numbers are all 617 area code as well. Yes, your call was from BC, because their numbers all begin 617-552Kiersten1985 wrote:Yeah, must be BC. BU is 671-353-xxxxmxc wrote:That's Boston College.miche1esim wrote:eee! just got the call!

What? They called you from BC? I know I got a call from BU...spoke with Christine and it clearly said "Congratulations from Boston University." I didn't know that BC made calls...especially when a decision was delivered by mail.

Hi! I applied in early November. I haven't gotten a complete email but I called to make sure I was complete. Does the lack of an email indicate anything (i.e. is my file not in the review queue?). Any ideas? Has anyone who has been accepted not received a complete email?

Re: BU! woot.
Just got the phone call and I'm in. Here's the tricky part...if it came down to the two schools I have acceptances at, what would you do? Fordham or BU. Before you say easy choice...
I'm from NY.
I'm a paralegal at a top firm in the city that recruits a decent amount from Fordham. With the job here already, I definitely have a foot in the door for a Summer Associate position and a solid chance to get it.
What do you think?

I imagine that the 10 point gap in rankings might not be justification enough for you to leave what sounds like a pretty good setup in NY. We're not talking about Yale vs. TTT here- the schools are relatively on par with one another.DrGuano wrote:Just got the phone call and I'm in. i would go to fordham. you live there so its easier, and you're guaranteed a job in this economy...

Re: BU! woot.
It would all depend on the money for me. I'd say you are crazy to go to Fordham at sticker price. The tuition, expenses, and COL in NY would come out to around 70K a year, which is simply not a good idea in this economy. That sort of debt would be absolutely crushing. I would say go with the school that gives you more money of the two. They are similar in many respects, so you can certainly parlay your scholarship offer from one into money from the other.

No job is guaranteed in this economy. I have several 3L friends from Columbia Law School and sadly they have no firm jobs awaiting them upon graduation...they said it's really F'd up right now but by the time 2013 comes around...they THINK we'll be fine...I really hope so...hearing that not even Columbia Law is recession-proof makes me worried. Go where they offer you money, if BC offers me a lot of money and BU craps out then I'm taking BC.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
