my offer was in the acceptance package (received 1wk after acceptance call), and I'm hoping for some additional aid once they review my Need Access app (submitted yesterday)Xiaolong wrote:In today via email (I am abroad). I did. I'm not sure if I'm in the running since I've already been given some non-PI money. I have no idea when we might hear... make sure to post here if you find out.somethingclever wrote:Has anyone applied for the PI scholarship? I'm just wondering when we might here back about it. Thoughts?

I called BU today. The woman told me that they would try to get back to everyone by April, but there were no guarantees...
Seriously? They know seat deposits are due on April 1st for a lot of schools right????

That's what happens when the app deadline is 3/1. I mean... are people seriously still applying. If so, as a school, you'd have to know that it's a last ditch effort (90% of the time) so why even bother?
Come on BU! I'm in limbo here! Pllleaase accept me, lol!

Unfortunately, I'm one of the few still in the application process. It really sucks.cherryalamode wrote:

There are more people still in the admissions process than those who are out of it. People who apply in January are really applying mid cycle, not extremely late. Obviously the earlier the better, but I don't think an April 1st deadline on BU's part is extremely unreasonable. I have gotten a bunch of notes from other schools saying it will be by the end of April which is certainly past all Seat Deposit 1 deadlines.
All that said, I do feel like I will be personally responsible for crashing a few status checkers with overzealous logging on and off.
Has anyone else heard from 1 or 2 schools quickly and now is languishing in the abyss of silence? AHHHHH!
Good luck cherry![/quote]

I've heard from no one. And I agree that April 1st is not that unreasonable. Some schools even offer refunds under certain circumstances. Plus, you could always ask for one, what do you have to lose? I have a feeling I'll be in that boat in a few months' time.

Thanks for the luck and same to you!
I for one DO think a 4/1 deadline is unfair. Most schools are 4/15 and what if you're on a waitlist to another school? Most first time deposits are nonrefundable. It's really nice if they are, but in my case, for example, it's not. Why can't it just be May 1? That's even better lol.
