I mean, both my fiance's and my parents live within an hour of NYC by train, so we could live with them for free, although that doesn't strike me as an ideal situation, either. Of course I don't NEED to live in manhattan, but really it was the primary thing that attracted me to Fordham over comparable schools. Soooo I still don't know what to do, I guess just hope that if I get rejected from Georgetown, GW takes me. Or Fordham has an adminstrative error and gives me a full ride. That'd be nice, too.

Hmmm, I would say if your wife is planning on working near where either of your folks live, then that is the best option (since, really, you will be in law school, you will be over worked and exhausted all the time, you can just use the commute time to sleep)

Save the money and use it to pay off your loans sooner...

I actually commuted an hour each way into NYC for high school, and it was really great. It's easy enough to sleep on the trains, or do some extra reading. You might even make a friend.

Just saying it's not out of the ordinary, tis all. It's certainly possible they're using the WL as a form of deferral though.

I dunno, but since everything else seems to show up on the checker, and some schools do reject via the checker (UT for one), I'm kinda thinking they would. It would be pretty funny if it just said "rejected."

Not really, Fordham always seems to be tough on low GPA splitters. IIRC they even waitlisted a 180 last cycle (though that may have been YP).

They are waitlisting reverse splitters as well. So i guess they just want well rounded numbers...

Okay, I get that if you have a low gpa and an LSAT maybe 1 or 2 pts higher than their 75%, then maybe you will get waitlisted...but the 170+? That's kind of ridiculous.
BUT IM STILL COMPLETE and I dont know what that means!

Well if their median LSAT was 166, it's reasonable to think that their 75% LSAT would be 168-169, which would make a 170 just a point or two above. The numbers on LSN must either be the PT numbers or a combo of both with seemingly equal weight given to each because they appear to be much higher.

Thank you, you actually just made me feel sort of better about the whole thing...except for the fact that I'm not as safe admissions-wise getting into Fordham as I had originally thought.

I wouldn't call myself a high splitter, but yes. Not that I'll get in to either. Fordham was my only realistic choice for NYC, so this totally sucks.

I LOVE commuting on an *empty* train. Since I moved to Queens I'm forced to take the 7 train in the morning which is always ridiculously packed, which makes commuting suck. But I commuted in high school from Park Slope to Bay Ridge, which took around an hour, but it was always empty so I thought it was great.

Actually the 75% was 167 for the 2008 class even though their median was 166. Some schools such as USC had 167 as their median and 75%. It doesn't increase too much except for T14s...

I'm not exactly a high splitter either, but I'm sort of freaking out now in light of these and other circumstances, and may start just sending applications off to everywhere (including maybe NYU-but not Columbia, lets be realistic here) so that I get in SOMEWHERE. I only applied to four schools as of now. I can't see me being WL for YP...from the list of other schools I put down on the app, its pretty clear that I want to be in either NY or DC and I didn't apply to any schools really ranked far and away above Fordham, except GULC.

Sorry that was sort of rambling..I should clarify. I only applied to schools in DC and NY, and in NY, only Fordham and Cardozo. So I think (I hope) its pretty clear that I wasn't using Fordham as a safety for Columbia/NYU.

I'm actually wondering about this - they asked for where else we applied, and I applied to 19 schools. I didn't want to leave anything off my app, for fear of what leaving it off could do if they find out, so I listed all of them. They span the top 30, so I dunno, maybe Fordham thinks I wouldn't go? Time to start working on a good LOCI.

Have you applied to GMU? It's T50 and you should get in so it might be a good safety to look into. It's just outside of DC and right on the DC metro, and is absolutely dirt cheap. The application is free if you submit it online.

Sorry about Fordham. Don't give up on them yet though - just keep giving them reasons to admit you through LOCI.

I am hoping our lack of waitlist today means they are on the fence between WL and Accept, not between WL and Reject.

I am not sure I could take a rejection....I told them explicitly in my PS that it was my top choice and if accepted I will attend. I hope that counts for something given that my numbers are fairly middle of the group.
