I really dont think there's anyone on my resume that they would have done that for. My GPA from my university is a cool .6 higher than my LSDAS, but I explained that pretty thoroughly in my addendum and its pretty evident if you look at my transcripts what happened. I really have no idea.

well, .6 is a whole lot, especially if it turned you into a splitter....maybe they had to check that out?

Haha I mean yeah, it is, but there were people with 170+/2.9 yesterday...it just doesn't make sense.

American U's status checker has a link to a page that describes what each status means, however it is specific to their status checking system. Do any other schools have this? AU is the only one I've seen, and it's helpful.

Would it be obnoxious to call and ask what my status means?

Gotta ask again.....

Early Action peeps - did you get any sort of official acknowledgment about being Early Action (e-mail, status checker differences, etc.)?

I submitted 10/31, and I didn't get anything. I was wondering the same thing, and am now curious as to whether I am EA...

These new status updates makes me think that that they never even looked at the applications they waitlisted yesterday.

Those that have gotten the "new" update the rec received or what ever were you EA?

I didn't get any sortof notice either and I was way before the deadline. General opinion is that its automatic and they dont send a special notice about it.

on another note - everyone brace yourselves...a rejection just hit the lsn wire.

I was EA and mine just went from complete to congratulations. There was no indication on the status checker or any email saying I was EA.

This. Something tells me they just took all the people who were not at certain numbers, didn't bother looking at the files, and said "WL these."

I think my specific case supports this suspicion very well- I don't have a GPA but I have a narrative transcript. I know that none of these schools are going to actually read my entire transcript (it's like 60 pages thick) but you would think it would have taken them a little longer to come to any kind of decision if they had actually looked at my file, especially because I applied less than a month ago. I think my 165 got me tossed in the waitlist bin more or less automatically.
