240 files moved to in review today. Decisions will come out on January 8th. These files are ones that were complete November 4 through November 13. If I am very productive over the next two weeks I may add more to this batch on January 4th, but no promises.

IN with a $30,000/ year scholarship! Holy crap! I was pretty set on picking a school on the east coast, but this scholly offer changes that. Now I have some hard decisions to make.

Was also placed on hold. Odd. Was accepted last year, with...I think 10-15K/year scholly. And that was without them seeing my last two semeseters of near-perfect grades.

I didn't write the why UIUC essay....

Deffered was what I meant - it means you are so 'def' that you are deffer than the rest of the applicants, so they don't defer you, they deffer you so they can enjoy your def application throughout the cycle.

Either that or I miisspellered deferred. :)

Dean Pless, the batch for Jan 8th (slated to be through 11/13)... are those to include ED deferred applications? The proximity of the dates got me curious...
Thanks.

No. I need to get at least 1,000 apps read before I can go back and review the ED files again.

Not at all. It isn't even a consideration when making an admission decision. We also offer scholarships to international students. The rest of the financial aid process can be a little more complicated, but we have a great financial aid person here at the College that helps all of our students.
Great, you have just given me hope.

Thanks for the quick response and Happy Holidays.

Thanks Dean Pless! I think this is the most exciting acceptance for me so far!

Congrats to others who got in today. See some of you at an ASD!
Interesting...I have that same numbers. Did you do your little weasle laugh (Eric from Billy Madison) when you got in?

In at UIUC with 30k/year! Pretty happy about it... U of I is very close to me and will definitely be in the mix come decision time. Thanks for keeping us posted and helping alleviate the anxiety, Dean Pless!

Good end to an up (accepted to Cornell, UIUC) and down (held at GULC and moved to RD at UM) week.

Best of luck to everyone and happy holidays!

In review as of today... **gulp**.

So this batch should be receiving decisions by 1/8 (from an earlier post)?

ETA: nevermind, went back and found Dean P's post saying this.
