ED? When is the deadline? I figure I'll have a decision from them within days...jawsthegreat wrote:You could ed to uvaLieutKaffee wrote:Yeah I may not have been as prudent with safeties as I should have. By EDing you would have an extremely good chance of being accepted, if you wait to get an answer RD you will almost certainly be a WL.LieutKaffee wrote:ED? When is the deadline? After all the craziness yesterday it doesn't seem like there's been movement today. Maybe we'll get another wave tomorrow.

I just updated to UR 2/11. I submitted 1/4 and went complete/ur on 1/6. Mean anything?

so true. I have a 172, 3.8x and I have heard nothing from UVA, Penn, or Mich. What did I do wrong.DallasCowboy wrote:I thought you were being quiet recently. Probably not, unfortunately. It seems that some people on TLS have gotten decisions after that date change, and for many nothing happened at all.cobvillian wrote:I just updated to UR 2/11. I submitted 1/4 and went complete/ur on 1/6. Mean anything?

Re: UVA 2010, RD
I'm assuming the same goes for me? I'm 171/3.75, and so far I've gotten WL from Penn and Chicago with and acceptance from Georgetown. I figured I would wait to hear from Michigan before I even thought about ED'ing to UVA, but I'm worried I'm gonna get swept out of MVP. I thought I'd have more options at this point... if my ultimate goal is to be a judge (with maybe some prosecutorial work beforehand), should I just suck it up and ED so I have a better shot at clerkships?jawsthegreat wrote:]

You have hit on some of my concerns. I was hoping to have more options at this point, and the lack of options makes ED-ing to UVA an attractive decision. Does UVA have an edge in clerkships over Michigan? Northwestern? I want me some clerkships.WhatUpKells wrote:I'm assuming the same goes for me? Re: UVA 2010, RD
According to the profile on TLS, both Michigan and UVA are at around 14% for clerkships. I'm not sure about NU, but I'm coming straight from UG, so I'm not bothering with them. Either one is better than GULC's 8%...LieutKaffee wrote:You have hit on some of my concerns. Re: UVA 2010, RD
I always question those figures because of self-selection, but I guess it's as good a metric to go on as any. The vibe I get is that if you're not going to HYS or Chicago, if you're determined from the start to aim for clerkships UVA might be almost on par with CLS or NYU in terms of your chances.WhatUpKells wrote:According to the profile on TLS, both Michigan and UVA are at around 14% for clerkships. Re: UVA 2010, RD
Waitlisted with a 171 (retaker) and 3.75. Out of state. Did not write a "Why UVA" but did include a few sentences specifically for UVA in my PS. Surprised at the waitlist, and a little perturbed that I applied in late October and it took them this long to respond. I will likely withdraw within the next few days.
Been a pretty disappointing cycle so far, with WL's at Chicago, Penn, and now UVA. I'm seriously concerned that my PS must not have been as good as I thought.

Same exact numbers, same WL's, same sentimest. I'm thinking this economy really, really screwed us.js87 wrote:Waitlisted with a 171 (retaker) and 3.75. Out of state. Sorry to hear it, but at least I have someone to commiserate with :p. I agree about the economy. Lots of people applying to law school simply because they can't find jobs after graduation.WhatUpKells wrote:Same exact numbers, same WL's, same sentimest. Still waiting at NYU and Columbia despite applying in October as well. Not looking good -- I can feel more waitlists or rejections coming very soon.

WL along with everyone else, similar numbers, no Why Virginia. Sucks, but good to finally hear back.

When did their last batch of acceptance go out and when can we expect another?
