Does anyone know what the deal is with the merit scholarships? I got good news from UT last week and I think they said that I would hear about scholarships in about a week. No word yet though. Anybody know how long it takes and if it's e-mail, mail, etc?

I received a merit offer via snail mail 8 days after acceptance packet.

I called, because I applied on 11/1, and was told by a frustrated-sounding lady that I was jumping the gun a little bit.

Sorry, but since all my other schools have sent me something to let me know the app was received within a week or so, I just wanted to check.

I think they are overloaded.

I submitted to may schools in October which still have given me absolutely nothing. It takes a while for some schools. You are, indeed, jumping the gun a bit.

Not really. I have received confirmation emails from every other school I have applied to so far.

Maybe not a "gone complete" or something like that, but something that acknowledges receipt of my application.

Have you checked your "spam" folder Obi-Wan?

Make sure LSDAS sent your report to them...that's what happened to me. If they sent it, then all you can do is wait like the rest of us. My LSDAS report was sent on the 5th and I haven't heard anything.

It says "completed" on LSAC.

I guess they just have crappy communication.

I applied on 11/1 and haven't received the status checker email yet. I emailed them to inquire, and they said that it would be in a forthcoming email.

ugh still haven't gotten mine. when did your LSDAS report get sent?

i submitted 31 oct, and according to the lsac website the report was sent by mail 2 nov. i applied ed (non-binding) if that makes any difference with processing times.

my report was sent on the 5th but i applied on 10/20 so I'm just super frustrated it's taking this long. everybody else who applied 10/20 has their decision. stupid technology error.[/quote]

i got dinged about two weeks ago from UT. I think I sent it in 10/10-20, I heard within 2 week I believe. So it may be a good sign that you haven't been rejected yet, they may still be considering you! good luck.[/quote]

I submitted either 10/31 or 11/1.. Got an "app received" email on 11/4, and then finally my status checker on 11/14. If you haven't heard anything from them by Monday you might want to check in.

wow...that's a pretty short turnaround. were you surprised to hear back from them so soon? you'd think they'd be too flooded with last minute ED (EA) apps to get back to you so quickly.

Submitted 10/31...received status checker on 11/18.

Applied on 11/2 and got my status checker email today. Even though I applied on 11/2 (after the ED deadline of 11/1) I still checked the ED box in case they would still consider me. Apparently they did...my status checker says I am ED.
