Just to follow this up, the offer with the acceptance letter was $8k Emery, I think I declined the offer today although I am not sure, the website appeared to crash but my deposit option has gone away, so I assume it worked.weee wrote:I will probably withdraw but I was notified by e-mail that I am a potential candidate for full ride + 500 book stipend for the first semester. They want me to put down deposits first to prove mt intent to attend I guess? I have not seen my acceptance pack to see what offer it contained yet.

Put my seat deposit down today, still waiting on Davis and Hastings though. I joined the SCU Class of 2013 Facebook group, seems like a nice bunch of people.

Re: In at Santa Clara!!
I hate seeing the useless posts like I'm about to make, but maybe it will give hope? I dunno...
But I won't be depositing tomorrow, so it's another offer that will be open to someone else.
Good luck to all on the WL!

I've read a bunch of your posts on TLS. Where did you decide to go?

They definitely have different deposit dates depending on when you were admitted.amacqueen wrote:My letter and on-line in status check says April 23 so it may not be the same for everyone.Great Satchmo wrote:April 1st.joonhp wrote:when is the first deadline for deposits for all you initial admits?
But the first deposit date is tomorrow.

Re: In at Santa Clara!!
question:
my deposit isn't due until april 23rd, but in my financial email packet it says they want me to accept my loans within 15 days... what's the proper course of action with this?

Answer:
accept the finaid. It's not a binding agreement, it's just merely saying "yes, I want this if I go here."

Side note:
Has anyone started applying for grants/scholarships/fellowships? I just calculated all of my finaid and what it means for me AFTER law school.
My undergrad and jd combined would leave me in a world of hurt.

I'm having trouble finding my Student ID #. I saved my acceptance letters and couldn't find it located in any of them. Any help would be much appreciated

Re: In at Santa Clara!!
yea those (except emery) are all loans based off your fafsa. I need to find a way to knock those loan numbers down a little/a lot.jpla wrote:i didnt apply for anything but got an email they were now available in my ecampus. just checked it out and there are 3 offers plus the emery scholarship. dont know if those were offered based on my fafsa or not though.scolinos wrote:Side note:

I know USD hands out university grants aside from scholarships, does anyone know if SCU does the same?
Based on my finaid packet I'm assuming not...

Same here -- though the date changed to 3/31 below the status. They've probably started reviewing this last batch. Saw the same thing via my USF and UC Davis checker. I applied for all these schools near deadline.Aspiration wrote:Just went from "in committee" from sometime in early February to 4/1. Anyones else? I applied toward the end of January
At this rate, we'll probably hear from them mid-late April, if my experience from the 2009 cycle holds true...

Withdrew (by not responding) with Dean's Fellow full-ride going back into the pot. Hopefully that helps some of you out. I'm kinda sad I had to withdraw, I just don't know if I want to live and practice in San Jose/ Bay Area.

Re: In at Santa Clara!!
I really wish I hadn't applied early action in October. I feel like now rather than getting an early decision, the batch of deferred EA's are going to be the last to know if they got in or not.
6 months and counting...I'm starting to get frustrated especially since I feel like my #'s are in SCU's target range....

I went "in committee" yesterday -- does anyone know how long people usually remain there?
