If I had that option, I'd take it over Santa Clara for sure.
Can you explain why? I'm just curious.
The difference in placement is pretty big. Maybe check out the NLJ 250 charts to get a look.
It is just that Fordham is overall a better school with better career prospects. I also wouldn't mind going to a school in NYC that places well.

Duh sorry I misread your post. I thought you meant you would take SC over Fordham, but that's clearly not what you wrote. We're on the same page.

I was accepted 11/17 and offered a $17k / year scholarship, but I am going to withdraw next week. Yesterday I got into my top choice, Boalt!
Good luck to those of you still waiting. This will free up a spot and some money for someone else.

SC really is stingy. What were your stats?

Acceptance & $ came in the mail today. Well, that and a SCU School of Law money clip. Anyone else get that?
Also got acceptance from WCL at the same time. So unless SCU drastically increases their scholarship package, odds are I'll be withdrawing.

Got my acceptance in the mail today! I got the Emery Merit Scholarship too ($8k) but it is a finite amount not promised each year- darn! Did the yearly scholarship with the top 25% requirement come in the acceptance letter for everyone else or in another letter? Hopefully my lack of $$ doesn't mean I am doomed to be dinged at my other schools. Still excited for an acceptance at a great school though!
Applied 11/26
Complete 12/08
Decision Mailed 12/14
Decision Received 12/18

Most of us who got accepted earlier got our scholarship offers after out acceptances in the mail.
It seems like they are combining them just before the holidays.

Just to let you people know. I went to santa clara a couple days ago and met with a admission councilor. The admission people (those who review the applications) are all on break so not much will be happening till after the new year.
I hope I get into this school I really love the campus and the people I have talked to there.

I finally got my acceptance in the mail today! Also got the Emery Merit Scholarship ($9k), but not much details regarding renewal of scholarship.
Applied 11/19
Completed 12/02
Decision mailed 12/14
Decision received 12/18
So happy to get an acceptance especially since this is the first school I heard from!

Got my acceptance in the mail today. It states, "you are being awarded the Law Faculty Scholarship in the amt. of $14,000". But it doesn't say whether this amt. is renewed every year. Any thoughts?

Same type of thing here...$11,000 Emery Merit Scholarship but doesn't say anything about renewing.
I assuming that means it's nonrenewable?
...sad...

Thanks...but I read that before posting and it doesn't really provide a solid answer. Though it says they're "generally" renewed, I don't trust that at all if it's not in writing.
I'll probably email them soon. I'll let those of you who are interested know what I find out.

Hmmm...I got an Emery for 11K, renewable if I stay in the top third of the class
(I think that was it). Yours didn't give any sort of stipulations for renewal?

Nope...doesn't say anything about it being renewable or nonrenewable.

I got my packet in the mail.
They offered me $1,000, as if that makes a difference. Like really? I mean I wasn't expecting scholarship offers period (so it's not disappointing), but do they really think $1,000 is going to sway me either way?
They would have been better off adding it on to one of the big ones.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
