Re: Santa Clara thread
Best of luck. I'm looking to apply to SCU next year thanks to an impressive visit in September. I found everyone (admissions staff, professors, and students) very helpful and, best of all, happy. I also spoke with an alumnus from way back who said some great things about the school.
Annemarie in admissions said that EA's will know their fate by the time the staff leaves for X-Mas break.
Look forward to reading how it goes for you. Hope everything works out perfectly.

Best of luck to all applicants. I'm a first year student at SCU and have nothing but good things to say so far.

Status changed to "In Committee" today--faster than I was expecting, as I only applied on 10/27. Anyone know what the checker may say next--as in, decision rendered, or will it actually say what the decision is?

Mine says In Committee as well. However, the date for that is 9/28/09. That must be one hell of a committee.

I'm applying to SCU too. I haven't visited though. What's so amazing about it? I know the campus is nice and all, but what is the social life like. SC seems like a big suburb from what I've read and the pictures I've seen.jmaan wrote:Scu is awesome (undergrad alumni trolling) good luck everyone and you'll love it

Re: Santa Clara thread
this is my top school... unfortunately my personal statement, and one letter of rec, are not ready yet, so i missed the EA... Oh well, its better that I have a polished statement and the other letter.
The campus is beautiful!!! The minute I parked into the parking lot for my tour I reaffirmed it as my top choice

I have visited yet either. I wish I had when I was out west, but I should be able to visit this year.ejjones wrote:I'm applying to SCU too. I haven't visited though. What's so amazing about it? well seeing how i was stuck in traffic getting there, it was nice to see a little greenery in the parking lot.
i also visited USF earlier in the day, and there is a vast difference in both schools. USF is in a great area, with beautiful views, but the campus is very ugly looking (it reminds me of my high school
besides SCU campus being beautiful, the people all seemed to be really nice, the locale is perfect for anyone wanting to practice in the bay area, and the program is good if you want to focus on IP or international law.

It looks like you did your undergrad at UF... why the cross-country jump to Santa Clara?

Apparently the adcoms must be reading this thread, since my In Committee status just updated to today's date.

Re: In at Santa Clara!!
Congratulations. Hope to join you soon.
SCU says as of 10/28 they're still waiting for my info. But LSAC reported my file to them on 10/29. ... Surely I'll be "in committee" soon.
Then again, they sent me an e-mail yesterday encouraging me to apply.
