I went DR the same day. My stats are slightly higher, and I felt reasonably confident about Cornell. I don't know if they "batch" or if this helps you, but I'll keep you posted if I hear back. I don't live far, so I am surprised I haven't gotten anything in the mail yet.

I just checked my status checker and got the 2/22 Decision with instruction to wait 10-14 days. What does this mean?!?!?! A rejection? I'm so nervous!!!

By the way, I applied 11/16 but didn't go complete unil January.

All the 22 candidates are borderline low, I'm reasonably certain none of us are acceptances, but we are all probably waitlists which is something.

Cornell does batch, and if you look at LSN it seems they alternate, Accept-->WL day or two later

I just spoke with a nice lady at Cornell. She informed me Deans Scholarship decisions will be out in the next week and they will be by Snail Mail

I was specifically asking her about the Deans Scholarship so she did not mention it. They are really good with questions over the phone though so I am sure she would tell you if you called and asked.

Let me explain our situation. This year we've received over 4,000 applications for the 190 places on our entering class. A large number of these people deserve an offer of admission. Unfortunately, we're not able to admit every deserving person and, since our small size is such a high priority, we have to be very cautious about the number of offers we make; otherwise, we could end up having an overly large entering class. For this reason, we've set fairly specific target-levels for the number of offers we should have outstanding at various points in time. Our several-hundred-person reserve group (of which you are now a part) helps us keep in line with these target levels. Then, later in the season after we've begun to hear back from people already accepted (usually by mid to late May), we decide if further offers are appropriate. If so, we review the files of all reserve applicants and make additional decisions. At that point, we also create our official waiting list.

We don't rank people on reserve and we'll be taking at least one more close look at everyone involved.

So has everyone posting that they've been WL'ed also been "reserved"? Or is there a "waitlist" as well?

Apparently the wait list pile is drawn from the reserve pile. But everyone on reserve is not necessarily guaranteed to get waitlisted. So I consider it more like a hold.
