Just called to make sure I'm still considered EA since it's dated 11/23. Wow! She was nice! Yes, I am EA, but I'm still just "complete," so she said to call back later today or tomorrow morning.

But yeah, she was really nice.

Called. They withdrew my application because NU notified them of my ED acceptance. Does this free me from having to contact 8 other schools? I'm assuming not.

Just to be safe, you should still contact the other schools.

This is the equivalent of work and I won't stand for it. Don't they know I'm only becoming a law student so I can engage in high-minded discussion of legal issues while avoiding repetition and drudgery?

Good luck to everybody still waiting for Cornell.

I BCC'd all the schools I was still under review at. That saved a lot of work.

Is it possible to still have my application reviewed on EA? I submitted RD in early November. I was wondering if I should call/e-mail and ask to have my app switched to EA.

Called and placed on reserve, not really too upset after seeing this happen to much more competitive applicants already. I'm sure this has been discussed before, but what is the difference between being placed on reserve and deferred to regular admission?

at this point there's no difference. you'll be reviewed again in march.

Almost did that. Figured it wasn't too hard to email a measly 9 schools. You had way more than I did.

I re-withdrew from Cornell, just to have a record.

Withdraw again. Let them know that it's not them, it's you. You're just not looking for anything long-term right now. With them.

Cornell's rejection letter is quite nice. It actually says this doesn't reflect on your abilities, but space is limited blah blah blah.

I think peer schools are notified by NU. But if you applied to lower ranked schools as safeties, I doubt they would be contacted.

Sorry to hear that, looks like they aren't loving splitters this year. You'll have lots of good options, so I wouldn't sweat it too much.

I'm sorry man. Console self with UVA?
After getting into UVA, especially a mere 16 days after I submitted my application, I don't really have any strong feelings toward any other decision I receive. The only 3 schools that I care about are HLS, Chicago, and Michigan. Everything else is just kinda ehhh...

Still no decision, was told to call back tomorrow morning before noon. I smell a deferral.

UVA is going to do well this year with their ED program. There were many who switched to ED just to find out right away, people with numbers too good for UVA.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
