Re: Cornell waiting room
Just got this. Looks like they are doing some notifications via email.
Congratulations Cylaw!
We couldn't wait to let you know that we're offering you admission to our J.D. Class of 2013. The official admission letter from our office is in the mail and you should receive it soon (if it has not already arrived). If you do not receive it in the next few days, please contact us.
In the meantime, we'd like to encourage you to think about visiting us in the near future. Please visit our website for more information:
http://www.lawschool.cornell.edu
In the next few weeks, we will be sending you more detailed information about the Admitted Student Days, the law school and other law school events. Of course, if you have questions or concerns, please feel free to call us at (607) 255-5141 or email us.
Congratulations once again Cylaw and we hope to see you in Ithaca soon.

DR 12/14. No email is probably a bad sign. Thanks for the YP Cornell

Re: Cornell waiting room
No mention of it in the email and no mention in the admissions packet. Though some people's letters mentioned that they were being considered for a Dean's Scholarship (which only a select few students get). I called the office and they said scholarship offers typically come later.jocelyne wrote:Congratz to everyone who got admitted!!!
did anyone get mention of scholarship in the email? I was just wondering how they will let us know of any merit aid. Would it be in the admit pkgs?

Re: Cornell waiting room
Actually, I agree with you there. I was more just fed up with the TLSers on other threads DEMANDING Admission to this or that school. I am disappointed with the decision. But I do feel it is better than a waitlist, and better than rejected. Hopefully, you'll be in in the next few days. Good luck!hopefulundergrad wrote:I think I'm competitive but by no means feel entitled to an acceptance. I just hate the fact that deferrals exist. You promised that if I applied by a certain date, you would give me a decision by a certain date. A deferral is not a decision, it merely allows a school to back out of its contract with you by providing a pseudo-decision.jks289 wrote:I don't think I will ever understand people feeling entitled to acceptances...hopefulundergrad wrote:I swear to Christ if I'm deferred...
Edited to add: Sorry if that's not what you meant. But that is how it sounds.

+ 1. I'm really disappointed and I certainly hope I'm not coming off as demanding admission-- I just wanted a decision loljks289 wrote:Actually, I agree with you there. Re: Cornell waiting room
In the PDF of my letter, it said I was under consideration for the Dean's; I have not yet gotten this elusive email that everyone else has gotten, for some reason. Perhaps we will get a different email.jocelyne wrote:So no one gets any mention of scholarship (Dean's or otherwise) in the email?
