Fixed it for you. They also have Ice-T hand-deliver the letter and then smack you. Applying to Columbia is like a slap-bet gone horribly wrong.ClemCarter wrote:gahthelaw wrote:

It's that deceptive Midwestern charm. When Michigan rejects you, they send a hand-written apology letter. When an NYC school rejects you, they just send you a single slip of paper that says: "Pssssh. Bitch, please."

that's actually a great consolation prize. 'you didn't get into columbia, but here's your cocktail party story for the next ten years.'Kretzy wrote:Fixed it for you. I was going to send them some headshots so that they make sure all of the upholstery is a suitable palate for my coloring. I cannot spend three years sitting on a green couch that makes me look like I have jaundice.

wow, it's furnished too? in that case, white plates make the food look more attractive, and sheets less than 1000 thread count give me hives.ClemCarter wrote:0L Hoping for 1 wrote: Maybe I should call them to let them know about my Yellow Lab, because I mean I dont want them going to all that trouble if the apartment is not dog friendly!

Got the acceptance package while I was working the front desk of my residence hall. So pumped. Never thought I would ever be in a top ten anything.

See? That's why I was saying it's too early to be distraught or paranoid in the ED thread! Seriously though, that's awesome. Congratulations!snickersnicker wrote:Got the acceptance package while I was working the front desk of my residence hall. So pumped. Never thought I would ever be in a top ten anything.

Thanks everyone! Hope I'll be seeing some of you next fall, if not during the summer. Again, if anyone has questions about life in Ann Arbor, feel free to ask, as that's where I've been spending my summers.

I probably really should retake it - PTs were averaging 169...then on test day the proctors ruined my first section by talking loudly and opening the doors to the entire university until a girl had a meltdown and cussed them out. That section counted and I got 8 wrong on LR, which I never went over 4 or 5. Rest of the exam I got 11 wrong I believe...Nonetheless, LSAC put the letter in my file saying I took it under poor conditions or something along those lines and decided I was too busy to retake it. Considering my softs (interned at the attorney general of mich, former policy writer for 2 PACs in Washington for Assyrian rights in Iraq, and am a co-founder/CEO of a 501c3 dealing with Assyrian-Iraqi refugees), I would take the risk of applying with a crappy score. I really just don't have the time to pour into LSAT prep again. Anyways, it does seem I am destined for the WL...
unless you're a URM I don't think you'll be admitted. It's tough but I think that retaking is close to your only chance for admission.
If you're going to retake, you should really tell them. The problem as I see it would be this. It's possible that you won't be waitlisted but actually denied at this stage. If they don't think you're retaking, that means asking them to reconsider you once you have a new score. My guess is that it's harder to get back in the process if you've already been denied once as opposed to just being in limbo once a new score comes around.

Every day I look at the LSN graph I think how nicely my little green triangle would fit in right in that little spot where my numbers are.
